Greatest drummer of all time?

Evil Chris · 11-23-2005

Who do you think deserves honours?
There are many, but two that come to mind for me immediately are Bill Bruford (Yes & King Crimson fame) and Manu Katche (high paid studio drummer).

Sysprod · 11-23-2005

Neil Peart from Rush, that guy is a machine

Seriously though ...

Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Sheila E.

MorganGrayson · 11-23-2005

The first name that popped into my head when I saw this thread title was Sandy Nelson.

I'm very glad to see so many "back in the day" drummers listed here.

Evil Chris · 11-23-2005

You know, I play a mean triangle after a few drinks.

mojobill · 11-23-2005

Some good drummers mentioned, but no one mentioned Carl Palmer?

bummer · 11-23-2005

mitch mitchell (jimmi hendrix experience)

bummer · 11-23-2005

ian paice from deep purple

Dravyk · 11-24-2005

phil is making more money as a singer than a drummer

he is good but not GOOOOOOOD

Vick · 11-24-2005

Don't know how to measure greatest .....

but favorites

Joey Kramer (Aerosmith) - he'll most likely never set the world on fire but has a stun gun sound (think drum break in Sweet Emotion)

Neil Peart is an amzing player and writer

The list could go on and on

Wow, there's a name I haven't heard in years. My fault alone, I'm sure. I wore out "Pictures at an Exhibition" years ago.

Nickatilynx · 11-24-2005
