Greatest drummer of all time?

Who do you think deserves honours?
There are many, but two that come to mind for me immediately are Bill Bruford (Yes & King Crimson fame) and Manu Katche (high paid studio drummer).

Re: Greatest drummer of all time?

The first name that popped into my head when I saw this thread title was Sandy Nelson. :)

I'm very glad to see so many "back in the day" drummers listed here. :okthumb:

Re: Greatest drummer of all time?

Don't know how to measure greatest .....

but favorites

Joey Kramer (Aerosmith) - he'll most likely never set the world on fire but has a stun gun sound (think drum break in Sweet Emotion)

Neil Peart is an amzing player and writer

The list could go on and on

Wow, there's a name I haven't heard in years. My fault alone, I'm sure. I wore out "Pictures at an Exhibition" years ago. :)
