Too bad you are not around here b/c i have a guy that goes to Japan and gets all the trade-ins.
In Japan, you can only have 800 hours on farm equipment before you have to trade it in.
I got my tractor (18hp 4wd), post hole digger, tiller, box scrape, bush hog, pulverizer, hay spear and spreader for $6800!
btw, i am planning on a trip to Charlotte to see my brother. Would like to hook up while I'm there. I will let you know the date.
You got an outstanding deal on that equipment. Very nice!
Let me know when you will be in Charlotte. We will have to meet up. Be sure and give me some notice.. we just had a litter of Mastiff puppies that are in our kitchen at the moment.. haha
What you see there in the garden picture is about 1/100th of the work he's put into that place. It's truly a showplace! I go there to see what people who aren't lazy can do.

Lesbians.... did someone say something about lesbians
Location, location, location.
I've seen some large lots (50+ acres) go for at little as $7K an acre here and there are 1/2 lots on the ridge on top of the mountain I live on that go for $45K (so $90K an acre).
I can't remember what Dan paid for his, but IIRC, it was less than $10K an acre and the value has probably doubled since then - and that's just the land, not including all the improvements.

Crap. I know I been in the country toooo long when I looked at your garden and thought thats nice.. but what about that tractor! Yes I am shopping for a tractor. The world may now come to an end.
Every man needs a tractor at least once in his life, just ask MikeAI
Bishop - will let you know asap. My bro lives in Fort Mill. Probably not too far from your office.
Trev - I only have 24 acres, but i am trying to buy land around me.... the 14 acres the lesbians own and the 30 on the other side of me. There is alot of good land cheap, but it is hard to find it close to town. I am only 2 miles from the city limits.
LL - One day, I hope to have you and Serge up for a weekend. It's country, so a weekend is all Serge could probably take. LOL BUt, I would show you guys a good time and we could get some good pics of Serge and my mules. ;-))
CJ - My wife hates it and I can understand it, but we live where there are many chicken houses and horse farms. We also live close to a marble quarry where a by product is ag lime. I dumped a dump truck load of chicken and horse shit and lime into my garden area. Smells like MONEY to me!
Vooman - we definitely need to hook up sometime. Tell Tony that you are going to his cabin to landscape and come here instead. hehe
KK - Tell the truth... you like tractors and 4wd's, right? ;-)))
I told Peaches that I'm definitely up for a visit. I just have to finish my painting project and get a few more plants in before it gets too hot.
You really did an awesome job with your property. I've always wanted to do some major work like that. Last year Tony joked that for my birthday he was going to rent me a Bobcat. hahaha

Now you know I've got a z71, the only drawback to living in LA is that no one has a yard the size that even needs a pushmower with Briggs and Stratton in it, much less a Deere
