Crooked cupid sent to U.S. jail for 4 years for running Internet dating scam

SEATTLE - A judge in Seattle has sentenced a 65-year-old British Columbia man to more than four years in prison and fined him $300,000 for running an Internet dating scam.
Barrie Turner of Delta had pleaded guilty to mail fraud in connection with 200 executive dating services that netted him more than $1.2 million in member fees.
The charges came after 100 clients filed complaints saying they'd paid as much as $997 for six-month memberships, only to be matched with fictitious people.
In handing down the sentence Friday, U.S. District Judge Ricardo Martinez said Turner not only stole the victims' money, he stole their hope and dignity.
In addition to the four-year, three-month prison term, Martinez sentenced Turner to three years of supervised release.
Turner was arrested in March when he tried to enter the U.S. at the border crossing in Point Roberts, Wash., where he had a postal box that collected payments from customers

I was confused about the Seattle Judge / Delta, BC man... until I read the last bit.
