A interesting piracy case to watch
http://news.cnet.com/8301-31001_3-20...contentBody;1n
I was reading this article Big media wants more piracy busting from Google This part I found very interesting and it could be a big game changer "Disney and Warner Bros. filed a lawsuit against Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Triton Media in August, alleging that the company committed contributory copyright infringement by providing ads to several sites they accuse of either distributing pirated films and TV shows or linking to them. Some of the sites named were Free-tv-video-online.info, supernovatube.com, and donogo.com."

Re: A interesting piracy case to watch
It will be an interesting case. However, they will likely have to show that (a) they were aware that these sites had signed up for their advertising service, and that (b), when they knew what these sites were that they continues to offer ad services to them.
See, there is always the problem of automated signups. Signup now, promote 5 minutes from now. If 10 minutes later the Disney lawyers spotted the ads, there is a question of control. I suspect that this case in the end will get a positive ruling for Disney, but it might take a while.
