I'm sure you have heard a lot about this show in the last few days. Here are the pics, all of them, judge for yourself.

We had an excellent productive show, above expectations and before anyone says anything, we go to shows with high expectations.

I heard it wasn't a very productive show for many people as there was just too few actual decision makers in attendance. The seminar turn-outs were also quite small judging by the pictures. The number of people at them would have been considered a pathetically poor turn-out just a few years ago.

I know it's also your job to pump the shows Julius, but I really believe AVN has had it's day in this arena.

Danny, there is just no pleasing people Years ago the shows were full to overflowing with affiliate reps who got drunk on your dime, did you do more business then, because they were there?

The whole show scene has changed dramatically, as far as number of attendees. This goes for all shows not just this one. As I have said before, its quality vs quantity now.

Yes, I do pump the shows, all of them. We go in with a positive attitude, we are there to do business and Hone had a great show

AVN tried a new concept with this one, it has merit, watch other shows pick up the same concept and run with it.

Shows used to be primarily about putting sponsors and affiliates together. Affiliates are all but out of the mix at shows these days.

If the direction AVN has taken with this show is going to become the norm for all shows, I don't think I'll be attending many more shows.

I'll find alternative ways to get together face to face with some of my industry friends.

Actually, yes. I did quite well when there were people there such as affiliate reps who could make deals and decisions. we even used to do suite partis nd invite the people we wanted to work with. Yes, they got drunk, but we got business out of it.

But, i really don't want to see the Porn Stars party (I'm not a silly FanBoy), or have a bunch of other areas of Adult that have nothing really to do with on-line. It used to be "our" show and dealt with "our" needs. AVN thinks all "Porn" is generic and that Videos are no different than On-line. The way their shows have changed over time show that.

I honestly don't believe they want any of "us" there any more. They couldn't make it on-line, and they've basically given up on our needs. I think you'll be seeing less and less Internet peple at those shows. they'll save their dollars for shows that actually make sense to attend.

Actually, I see a whole bunch of stuff that has been done at other shows (particularly Cybernet), such as the "meet market" sort of deal (called corridor cruising, if I remember correctly) and Speed Meeting (which has been at other events, such as Qwebec Expo).

There is certainly a shift, but more than anything, it makes it look like AVN is returning back to it's "Valley Porn" roots and pretty much tossing the internet (and it's marketing) under the bus to get there.

From the pics, I think the theme for the show was "elbow room... we got it". I didn't see anything in the pics that I found particularly would attract me to the show.

It looks like that show could have been held in a backyard. Even a telephoto lens couldn't save those pictures. The quality vs quantity argument only works if there is quantity...any quantity. I bet you dollars to say......dognuts that show lost a pile of dough.

Where was DirtyD? Did he hand out the million bucks and I missed it?

Much as I hate it, I think I have to agree with Danny's take on this. To some degree, the "web people," have always been treated as the "red headed step child."

You know the industry really could be like this:

And for a brief time the porn industry was very muxh like this. 1000's in attendance, big act's on stage and Keynote addresses big enough to fill a large auditorium.

Now lets see here... The video game industry is pretty big, lots of product, etc etc, Adult entertainment has even more fans that the video game industry. The video game industry charges 9.95 to 80.00 per title. The video game industry faces the same issues the porn industry has with piracy.

The major difference between the 2 industries is simple. You do not see the video game industry giving its product away free nor do you see the video game industry fucking each other over in cheapening price wars.

People wonder why I call the porn industry retarded these days, well think about this contrast of 2 industries I just showed ya and think about it for a sec.

Less competition means more fresh young teens with firm breasteses for the rest of us.
