Does that mean those size limitations of content are gone?

Honestly, I quit paying attention to the product and dismissed it from mind when I saw those. they may be ok for the guys with cookie cutter tours who do not update, but if you run an active site producing content constantly, we tear thru terabytes of storage of raw footage.

No offense but it looks like you have 4 sites. Unless you are talking about other sites that arent on FatFuckingCash.com how do you run through terabytes worth of storage ? I dont know how many vids/pics you have but I have a hard time believing that you have more content than some of the clients that we are currently working with.

I have clients we are working with that have 3-4 times the number of sites and also put out DVDs each month and have 1000 to 5000 members. They update each site once a week and have been in operation for years.

I would really have to know exactly what your current storage is to be able to give you an idea of what your costs would be.

It's a critical reading skill thing. Gonzo said "raw footage" - not what is on the website. Realistically, you have to document in 2257 your original content, not the shrunk down versions that appear on the websites. Raw video footage is very, very big indeed!

Ummm no thats not what it says... here's the law and here's the definition from 28 CFR 75....I have highlighted the relevant portions to make that critical reading issue easier...

§ 75.1 Definitions.

(d) Sell, distribute, redistribute, and re-release refer to commercial distribution of a book, magazine, periodical, film, videotape, digitally- or computer-manipulated image, digital image, picture, or other matter that contains a visual depiction of an actual human being engaged in actual or simulated sexually explicit conduct, but does not refer to noncommercial or educational distribution of such matter, including transfers conducted by bona fide lending libraries, museums, schools, or educational organizations

No mention of raw footage....It is what is commercially distributed that counts.

§ 75.2 Maintenance of records.

(a) Any producer of any book, magazine, periodical, film, videotape, digitally- or computer-manipulated image, digital image, picture, or other matter that is produced in whole or in part with materials that have been mailed or shipped in interstate or foreign commerce, or is shipped, transported, or intended for shipment or transportation in interstate or foreign commerce, and that contains one or more visual depictions of an actual human being engaged in actual sexually explicit conduct (except lascivious exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of any person) made after July 3, 1995, or one or more visual depictions of an actual human being engaged in simulated sexually explicit conduct or in actual sexually explicit conduct limited to lascivious exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of any person made after March 18, 2009, shall, for each performer portrayed in such visual depiction, create and maintain records containing the following:

What is not put into the stream of commerce is not covered. For example, if you make a home movie with your significant other, 2257 doesnt apply. Once you sell it or attempt to sell it, you need docs. Same applies to raw footage. If no one ever sees it, then there cant be an inspection.

Dont spin it. What I am saying is that you dont need to worry about an inspection as to content that has never been commercially distributed. If the content is in raw form, ie still on mini-dv and never been released to the public why would you need to be worried about an inspection ? That content doesnt exist to the DOJ/FBI. As for an inspection, the DOJ/FBI are going to walk into a producer's office with screen caps of performers from content they have prescreened and ask to see docs and IDs for those specific performers they have questions about. They dont come in an do a complete inspection of every vid/photo.

I would love to know the real story behind what happened with 2257 Safe and why Pornlaw is not involved anymore. and why Dan transferred the service and customers to his new 2257Snap.com domain. This also necessitated customers having to log in and update their records and also forced a custodian of record address change.

I will clarify some issues for everyone. I am not involved with 2257Snap.com. Dan was the original programmer that developed the software that was running the site. He decided to continue to service our current clients and expand the business on his own.

I stepped away for one major reason - I didnt want 2257Safe.com to be the target of possible hack attempts. I am getting involved with the copyright litigation and have seen other attorneys targeted online and in person for filing these cases. We filed our first case on the behalf of XPays several weeks ago and have several more scheduled (which at this time I am holding off on though). While 2257Safe did have PCI-DSS servers, the new company does not. Even though the records are encrypted I did not believe the encryption was sufficient to protect the records we were entrusted with. The financial liability for a breach can be tremendous. I thought the site and the business was better off and safer without my involvement.

I have also be told of several other camsites that have been hacked and performers IDs and social security numbers leaked over the internet. I simply did not want to be responsible for a potential breach.

Therefore it was an easy decision to step away.

Dan is great. He provides solid service and will continue on. He has done a great job moving everyone over and continuing on.

C'mon its called "lawyer-speak" !

Perhaps this will be more clear - I would have been nervous if I had stayed involved. As for 2257Safe I dont remember ever having anyone even attempt a hack. I felt that with remaining involved it would have put a bull's eye on the site.

With me gone I do not feel there is the same level of threat had I stayed. However, I am skittish about maintaining any records online at this point.

From all of the attacks on adult industry websites over the past year by Anon and 4Chan as well as IDs and 2257 docs being leaked I just didnt want the risk.

I am not going recommend that anyone store financial/personal information records online until the adult industry uses PCI-DSS servers.

This also applies to cam sites that have girls upload their IDs, releases and 2257 docs. Too many cam sites merely encrypt that data. I post on another board where its been rumored that several sites have had their model databases infiltrated by fans.

Its not a specific 2257Snap issue it is an industry wide issue.

so what your saying, is keep personal id's off the net and store in either hard copy, digital media, locked in a bank or a very secure location. Anywhere that is offline. BTW, that is what I do and always will.

To clarify further, I have been informed by Dan that 2257Snap does in fact use PCI-DSS servers - which means he is using the gold standard of security in regards to protecting the information....

If in fact 2257Snap is hosted on PCI-DSS servers I believe that while the threat is there, anyone having the ability to hack PCI-DSS would probably spend their time hacking a bank or a credit card company instead...

Sorry for the confusion and thank you to Dan for clarifying up that issue.
