True Blood
So who else is watching True Blood?
I finally have a replacement for at least one of my favorite HBO shows that has wrapped in the last year or two. It's a keeper. And I predict anyone who desires to understand how to speak fluent GonZo will HAVE to watch it. No way you'll get the references without it. |

Re: True Blood
Yep, interesting show. I'm a fan.
More tits and murders per show than The Sopranos. Plus blood. Muhahaha |

Re: True Blood
I read the books a while back, they were quite entertaining. I also enjoy the show, and if they follow the storyline in the books (which they have so far) it will get a lot more entertaining.
Just wait to you find out what Sam, the bar owner, really is!! |

Re: True Blood
I will never spoil it for anyone. I read the books, but that doesn't mean the show will fully follow. Although, there have been a number of hints about Sam thus far....if you knew the story
Once you see it, you will think back and think....ahhhh! |

That's becoming a show I'll always watch in real time first night HBO shows it just because people yap. Hadn't thought about the books although I knew it was based upon them, and I do know enough about the series to know we've got a lot more to learn about vampilres and such than we've seen in the first 3 or so episodes shown so far. This has potential to be a good long running series and HBO needs one. Nothing has really stuck to fill void left by Sopranos, Six Feet Under and Deadwood. And now even The Wire is gone. |

Re: True Blood
The story lines can get a bit dark, but they still keep the humour there, which I like. The series is following that really well. The books are written in a dark comedy style which really hooked me. You have hard-core horror followed immediately by laugh out loud humour. It's great!

I don't like any of the crap on Showtime's wannabe shows. In fact, I just had Sho taken off my roster as a waste of money. |

The producer killed Deadwood. HBO wanted more, but he insisted the ensemble cast all get the same pay. That pushed the price beyond what HBO was willing to do. And I agree about Showtime. What few things I might want to watch over there, I'll grab off the net. And there hasn't been much. |

Re: True Blood
I am not a fan of TV shows but I must say that I do enjoy watching this one. I think I have missed an episode ...the last I saw was the bartender smelling the bed where that vamp lover was murdered. Strange show but I loved the book. Very much so worth while.

Re: True Blood
For Showtime, Dexter is a great show. In Canada, we have Entourage, True Blood and then Dexter one after the other on the Movie Network channel on Sunday evenings.
Another thing to keep an eye on in the True Blood show....the dog they keep showing every episode |

Re: True Blood
I can watch Entourage as background, but those guys annoy me. Remind me too much of too many people I know. Makes my Type A flare up.
Another show I absolutely CANNOT watch is Curb Your Enthusiasm. Larry David makes me wanna reach thru the TV and strangle him. |

Re: True Blood
I never got hooked on Dexter even though everything points to it being a good show.
Entourage, when it first came out I was resistant. But for the past three seasons I've been loving that show! Larry David. He IS irksome. Until I saw one episode where he's in a restaurant and in the "single" eat-alone section. The guy at the next table is talking loudly into a cellphone the entire time (louder than even the people with two to four people at their table.) So there's the loud mouth sitting alone at his table and Larry sitting alone at a close adjoining table. So Larry starts talking loudly to his imaginary friend to annoy the cellphone guy! It was hysterical! Plus something I've always wanted to do but lacked the nerve (or maybe just the right circumstance.) hehe |

Entourage is funny, I watched that twice! I have never seen Dexter.
