Re: Hey Red
I think you need to do something about the colors babe. If you want to keep the mustard color background and the red, that's fine, but the salmon color isn't working. Maybe a dark tan instead.
Hope your headache clears up honey. Want me to kiss it and make it all better? |

Re: Hey Red
WeirdHarlold,
I took the liberty of checking out your page and I see what you mean about the css problems. The colum running down the left side of the page is sitting over the main body content. This can be changed by editing the pivot_template.css and editing the #leftcolum width size and margin size.

Re: Hey Red
I should also point out that you're calling two pivot_template.css files from two different locations:
Code:

Gosh, I love this kind of talk!!
But I have absolutely *no* idea what it means! The .css on my sites is a copy/paste number from my youngest daughter. |

Up until it started listing referrers the right column width was just fine. I have the right column set at #rightcolumn { position: absolute; right: 0px; width: 200px; margin-top: 4px; background-color: #CC0000; But the problem seems to be in the block. .block { margin:6px 6px 12px 6px; padding: 4px; background: #FFCC33; border: 1px solid #999; which is now expanding to handle the showing of referrers and I can't seem to get it to not expand. The main thing I was bitching about before you pointed out the right column overlapping the content was that the right column was not lining up like it should at the top below the header. Again I don't why that is. So if you are someone else has a word or two of wisdom, please let me know.

Re: Hey Red
weirdharold,
I've taken another look and in the pivot_template.css you need to take out this: #leftcolumn { position: absolute; left: 0px; width: 200px; margin-top: 4px; top: 422px; background-color: #CC0000; If you take out the top: 422px; the colum will align at the top the way the others do. As for the overlap issue, thats down to the referers url length. Is there a template in the pivot set for Last Referrers? if so can you post it or send me a copy so I can take a look at it?

Re: Hey Red
Trev, I can't tell you how much I appreciate you help on this.
I will have to look for that template on the last referrers and if I find it I might be able to figure out what the deal is.... I have been force totry to get a grip on CSS because of this pivot script... which is a good thing really, I see now that if I take the time to learn CSS I will be a lot better of for it. I will check on that templete and try to figure it out myself, but if I can't I will surely get back to you.... Well I will get back to you anyway and let you know what happened. Thanks, Harold

I'm not sure what version of pivot you are running, but I've went and downloaded and installed the pivot_130_alpha31_full.zip. If this is the same build you're working with then there is a setting in the main admin screen that may (or may not) fix the referer block throwing the side bar into the main content. Login and go to Administration -> Create / Edit Weblog -> just keep clicking the "go" button until you get to page 3. There should be a "Settings for Last Referers", you need to drop the "cut length" by at least 5 or more. If you're on the same build then fingers crossed as this isn't a css problem

Re: Hey Red
Trev, I am not using the same version, but I went and looked through the administration of mine and sure enough on page 3 there is a setting for last referrer cut off which I have changed to lower it by 10 which will still leave 20 to be shown. I had taken the last referrer off the page until I figured out what could be done to correct the problem and and in the middle of writting my next entry... so after while I will put it back on the html page and see it it works..... Thanks for the help... Oh by the way I removed the top: 422px; from the leftcolumn and that didn't help with the linning up of that column so I am still lost on that one... But it is not something I can't live with.
Thanks again Harold

When I load your page I'm still getting that you're trying to load pivot_template.css from 2 locations, The one being pulled from /pivot_template.css still has: #leftcolumn { position: absolute; left: 0px; width: 200px; margin-top: 4px; top: 422px; background-color: #CC0000; } The one being pull from /pivot/templates/pivot_template.css is correct as it is #leftcolumn { position: absolute; left: 0px; width: 200px; margin-top: 4px; background-color: #CC0000; } This is how the head of the page looks at the moment: This css file is the one that is being loaded and is wrong This css file is correct but isn't being used as the one at root is being loaded So if you delete the call to: the page will work.

Re: Hey Red
Trev, thanks again, after some sleep I woke up and read your last post and went and checked and I had put the file where I had deleted the link to the CSS in the wrong dir. and guess what when I finially got that taken out ... you were of course correct.... everything lines up perfect and looks so much better.
