The contestants in the challenge will post their progress reports and seek outside advice, criticism and reviews right here.

I will start. I have not decided what I am building, I have not decided what domain it will be on. I have not decided on the sponsors.

All I know is that I have Mr. X on my side in this and since he has been on the net since the very very beginning and he basically (according to what I have heard) invented the Adult Internet, I am sure I will win

Started my build today. Trev's had some really good input but some of his ideas are way beyond what I was thinking about.

I've also just realised that I'm the only true newbie in this challenge, so please cut me some slack.

Oh and Trev says I've got to refer to you all as "cocksuckers" from now on

Here is my progress report:

I have decided on a rough strategy and have drawn out what I think this mess will look like I have decided which domain(s) to use and have changed my dns to unpark and point at my server.

I have actually written a little code

I also wanted to share an icq conversation that Mr. X and I had last night, I think you all can learn something from his wisdom:

sarettah: Ok, so what should I be building ? I have not a clue.

mrx: Banner farms baby, that's where it's at. About 200,000 pages of niche specific banner farms. Then you take the hit and you bounce them back and forth, don't let them out unless they click on something. They shut down their browser, turn it back on, if you can get a couple of toolbars and shit downloaded along the way that would be good too.

sarettah: shit, that doesn't sound great. I though banner farms went out in like '97 and toolbars and downloads ? I hate the fuckers that do that to my computer.

mrx: look fuckhead, you want my help or not? Banner farms, yeah, whats old is new again. The surfers out there now adays have never seen a banner farm before, they'll click right in. Did I mention lots of blind links, hell make the whole page one big giant link, no matter where they click they're at something you sell. They try to get out bombard the hell out of them with all the shit you can find. As far as a "made it" person. Becki, I have done 3 sales (count them 1,2,3) sales for a total of $105.00 across 3 years.

Where is "made it" ?

The basis of the contest is "learn to sell" for the builders. That is what I am trying to do. At the sames time, I try to always keep a sense of humor about me. If I can't laugh at myself, I will die crying
