Politics and business

Would you let someone's politics affect whether you did business with them? Do you do more or less business with "like-minded individuals"? If someone offends your political senses does it make you think twice about approaching them to do business?

Not me. I'll even do business with commies and Iranians. Even RawAlex!

No. personal politics plays no factor. unless they are fundamentalists who might disrupt the flow of business by killing themselves in the name of Allah. Then id have to get a lot of insurance.

I dont take into consideration ones politics at all when doing business.

BUT at the same time i have noticed that some of the ways that politics is discussed on the board is in direct relation to how that persons business dealings will work.

If someone is blatently ignorant and rude while discussing politics or religion on a public business board (which obviously isnt the place), I think we all need to pay attention to how that individual handles the discussion. With passions and tempers often flared you can see excactly how one acts when the heat is on.

Thats invalueble business info in my opinion.

Ah but you see, the very nature of politics or religion always means the guy who doesn't agree with you is stupid, and if he defends himself at your expense, then he's being rude.

Seems to me that's kind of like assuming that the way somebody acts when they are watching a football game is the way they would act when conducting a business meeting.

I do not let their politics matter, I prefer to meet people in person then make my assessments.. hard to get an acurate read to context when it is just on a board, with that said, i do decide sometimes wether or not i want to approach that person of boards at a show or not

so it is a kind of tricky question, I guess we all are predjudiced somewhat by our early reads ....

World politics? Nah...

Business politics? Possibly, but only if it somehow conflicted with my biz....

For instance if my bread and butter were teen sites, I would find it hard to do business with someone who actively pushes against using the word "teen" in site promotion.
