hey folks, I would really wish that everyone here would help a little, these men and women and thier families can use all the help that they can get.

Go here to give a little This is a great cause and I'm going to do everything I can to help myself, sending moneies and trying to get this infront of others that can and want to help.

You couldnt find a better group of people(brothers) to help.

thanks and Semper FI

Peaches, this is a good resource for charities that are helping our soldiers.

http://americasupportsyou.mil/ This is from the pentagon.

Also Oprano has a button for the Adopt a Soldier program on the right side.

I generally like to keep private on things like this, but these are the ways I'm big on supporting the troops while still disagreeing with the war they have to fight....

I've already adopted a soldier at http://www.usahelp.us and am working with a woman locally who's making miniature Christmas stockings for the troops as well as have contributed time to the VA clinic and the DAV.

Generally, I keep private on these types of things as I don't do it for attaboys or pats on the back...it do it because I care and don't want that tarnished by bragging...the only reason I'm posting about it now is to hopefully get other people involved.

You don't have to be for this war, but you should thank those over there doing their jobs, fighting it. You may think you can't afford to help, but just simple things like grabbing an extra sack of groceries and donating them to a local family who might have a father overseas fighting. Providing blankets and extra coats to your local homeless shelter (yes, there are a lot of disabled vets down there). You can volunteer to help cook Thanksgiving and/or Christmas dinner for these folks as there's always a need for volunteers.

Just get involved and do something, whether it's contributing money or something even more valuable: time and companionship.
