AEBN Radio just became a TWO channel network. Channel 1 is a talk radio format for webmasters. Channel 2 is a 24/7 music format also for webmasters.

PLR Radio is now on the AEBN Network and is Channel 2. This is a collaborative effort between AEBN and PLR. PLR Live, Dman and Mattyd's radio show will be airing Wednesday nights at 9pm on Channel 1.

Netpond Radio is now on the AEBN Network. Jayman's show will be broadcasting Wednesday at 8pm also on Channel 1.

Chatroom.. looks like we will be moving over to IRC(finally), should be done later this week or early next week.

We now have 4 shows on the AEBN Network and more on the way. If your interested in having a show please contact me. You will need to spend about $150 for the equipment. You must be willing to talk 1 hour per week or if someone wants to get brave and do a 30 minute daily show.. I'll entertain that idea. If you sell ad space during your show you get to keep the money. We pay for the bandwidth all we ask for is commercial time and station ids.

Be sure and check out the two new radio shows tonight.. well .. old shows - they have both been around since 1999 - you get the idea.

CJ - Ynot and Xbiz are still broadcasting. Ynot/TAW has 6 shows I believe.. Xbiz has 2 I think. We currently have 4 but each of those shows represents a different site. AEBN, Oprano, PLR, & Netpond are all broadcasting though the AEBN server but they are all run independent of each other. It would be cool if someday all adult webmaster radio broadcast on the same server. A one stop shop for all webmaster radio.. hard to beat the price. Its free.

There are also some independents that only have one show. There are only 3 actual networks.. more than one show on the same server.

Well, since All Of 'Em is the only place that covers the radio shows and networks, and has for four years, I'll give you the lowdown, Bishop.

D$ hasn't done one since December and Holly hasn't done her's since September. Holly has obviously given up. D$ maybe he's tired or maybe its the other thing. The other thing being XBiz radio basically ran on top of Dokk's network which is no more. (Some folks considered Dokk's to be one and XBiz to be one, but it was actually similiar to the Oprano/AEBN thang.) I heard awhile back XBiz was restructuring their radio network since the Dokk departure, but heard nothing lately on if they are or aren't. (Alec likes to keep his cards close to his vest.)

PLR obviously was seperate, but isn't now. So there's actually two networks now, AEBN and YNOT/TAW. There's rumor of a another party who might go into it big time, but so far those rumors are just rumors. If they do and XBiz does, then there could be four. But for the moment it's just the two and the various independents.

Ok, that said, many congrats to PLR and AEBN on your hook up!

I don't see all of the shows merging onto one network to be a good thing. Monopolies are never good.

That being said, it *would* be nice to have the shows all having to schedule times that don't overlap or directly compete with each other. While each of the shows is going "hah, we had 40 listeners and you only had 20", the webmaster loses out because he has to choose one or the other.

What ya mean Ant? Thats exactly what it has been from the begining.
AEBN is wise to work out many deals that are similair. Make no mistake though...they are "friends of the family".

i agree ... i think there are too many shows ...

so you should listen to us every tuesday and just tune in occasionally to the others if they have a topic of interest.

personally, i am not interested in a bunch of shows of people crapping on about nothing ... i drop in occasionally for some fun and relaxation, but its the middle of my work day and i just don't have the time for them all.

consider tuesday night the wrap up of everything important

I listened to Netpond radio once when Nick, Ant and Prophet where setting it up way back when but I never really got into it...


I'd rather listen to my local station that plays the music I like all day long

I can see that there is some confusion.. let me try to straighten this out.

Darren Austin came to work with AEBN about 6 months ago. We set up the shoutcast server to broadcast his show. We thought it would be a good idea to broadcast more than one show.. we just need to figure out a way to do that. - October 2003.

I met Gonzo in Vegas and we talked about Oprano having a radio show. I had already talked to a couple of other companies about doing the same thing. Oprano went live with its radio show first. - January/February 2004

Then I struck a deal with Netpond to move the Netpond Show over to AEBN. The next day I struck a deal with PLR to become Channel 2 an all music station and for the PLR Live Show to broadcast on Channel 1. - March 2004

AEBN is the Network like ABC, CBS, etc.. We only have 1 show and that is Darren's show. The other shows belong to their respective owners, Netpond, PLR, & Oprano.

On Oprano you will hear the radio stuff refered to as AEBN/Oprano Radio, Oprano/AEBN Radio, when its really 'Oprano Radio on the AEBN Network'.

I like Oprano. I do business with Oprano. I also do business with Xbiz, Ynot, TAW, Netpond, PLR, GreenguyandJim, you get the idea.. What seperates what I'm doing with the radio stuff, from what has been done in the past is that I am not a resource. I am not in competition with resources the way all the other resources are in competition with each other. I am offer anyone the means to broadcast on neutral ground.

Think of AEBN Radio as public access.

Carrie - Its not a monopoly. Everyone controls the content of their respective shows. AEBN is just providing the means to broadcast. We are the host. I'm not censoring the shows.

Regarding choosing one show over the other.. that isn't necessary. I believe that shows should be archived. If someone broadcast and doesn't archive their show they are missing 95% of their audience. Very few people have the time to tune into radio shows. The archives allow people to listen when they have time. Archives are key.. I don't even care if the shows are pre-recorded. As long as I get a commercial or two and people hear the name of the company I'll be happy.

I didn't mean it like that Bish.
What immediately comes to mind with me is most everyone relying on one network, and for some reason that network goes down. Ala Dokk.
Badabing, all of the shows are off the air because they all relied on the same network.

Make more sense?

PS - fast archives would be nice. A year ago when there was at least one radio show on every day, many of them decided not to archive. Some of the ones that did do archives would take a week or more to get the archives posted (Netpond's new show, MCL when Headless hosted).

And gotta throw this chuckle in - you mean D$ had a show there towards the end? I thought it had become the "KB does impressions of Larry Flynt" show. :P

We'd love to sit around once a week and burn a new webmaster and watch them squirm in the hot chair.

However, we just have no time in the day.

We figured, it would cut into elocution classes, and we cannot have that, can we?
