I am just happy that Meni has decided to get involved with politics.

How many elections have you voted in Meni?

He is a good quote from Buffet:

Tax breaks for corporations -- and their investors, particularly large ones -- were a major part of the administration's 2002 and 2003 initiatives," Buffett said. "If class warfare is being waged in America, my class is clearly winning."

Hit's it right on the head....most average Americans see no change...mostly worse.

Ask yourself "Are you average?" "Are you the average American?"

If not then what the is the problem?

We've been over this issue a few times

I don't see a problem

Who cares about the poor? Most aren't worth carring about nor worth the pixels wasted on them

Who should get tax cuts? People who don't pay them? Who do you think pays the taxes?

According to the IRS, The Top 50% of Wage Earners Pay 96.03% of All Income Taxes.

So I ask again, who the hell else can get tax cuts???

I think it's about 75%.

So do you have a sense of "fairness" which is being violated? At what point would you consider the income distribution fair?

Some people are a LOT better than others at making money not because of an unfair system but rather because of a fair one.

I agree, the only fair system allows one to succed or fail based on their own merits.

There should be no redistribution of wealth

Tax % rate should be even from one dollar to one billion dollars

I do not believe people should be punished for being successful which is what the current tax system does, I also do not feel that people should be rewarded for being lazy.

The Bush tax credit checks went to a whole lot of people that did not pay any taxes, how is it fair to give back what you never gave.

I disagree.

We should have a flat tax, not as a % but as an exact dollar amount. All citizens should be treated as equals under the law.

re : everyone paying the exact same tax amount :

Despite the fact that it's absurdly impractical and can't happen...

PD, would you not consider it "fair" that everyone pay the same amount? If not, why?

It's more practical than what we have now.
If we kept the system as similar to the current one as possible, all that would change is that a company would break up the $1000 or $5000 or what not over 12 months and withhold it like it does now.

As for what's not fair about it, it's not fair that some people make more than others, therefore we should tax them down to the same level as everyone else -- but make them stay just as productive as they are now

I consider a tax based on a % of income slightly less fair than a tax where everyone pays the same $ amount.

In a fair world, that's the way it would be - but we don't live in a fair world. Right or wrong, the government requires more money than can be raised under such a method.

it is working in other countries right now.
to "absurd" and "can't happen" might be fairly strong language.

ok broken record time
I've already given you the answer for taxing Americans

NATIONAL SALES TAX

Fair to all and we can still keep the IRS employed - someone has to count the beans

Hell I've even take it a step further, tie the tax rate to the amount needed to balance the budget every year

You know I might have to run for President of the USA - I've got the solutions and am tired of incompetents who don't get it
