Up for some Rainbow Six 3 team player action soon?
Wanna get your ass kicked on Project Gotham 2? Able to play Topspin? You better than Travolta in Crimson Skies? If you answered yes to any of these questions, install XLink (the Kai version) so we can hook our XBoxes up for some online playing.

Hey, man.
I have a problem with hooking my XBox live up. It has something to do with the modem my local cable provider provided me with and the way the machine has to acquire the IP. After days of troubleshooting with those clowns, i gave up. X Link. This is a way around this though?

XLink is no XBox live. I don't have XBL.
xlink runs on the pc and all you have to do is hook your xbox in your router/direct cable connection. Only a few people have it installed now < 100, bu tthat will increase soon, as Kai will be off beta in just weeks and then the older Xlink v.2 will no longer work and everybody has to switch to Kai (which basicly is v.3). Although not a LOT of users are there now, it is still fun to meet up with friends and start playing. They will have speech enabled soon too, I might look into that as well, as that would be so cool. Did you modchip your XBox? Cost 70€ and you're set for life I'm a hardware n00b but managed to install everything in under 6 hours. Games are cheap now and there's a on/off switch for if you ever want to play XBL, so you won't get banned there. How about this: I have an Xbox now that can do all this: - play ANY gaming console, from Atari, Amiga, Commodore, N64, SNES, Gameboy (advanced) and more ... I have thousands of games now, pretty damn cool; - Watch every movie format (.bin, .avi, mpg etc.) by either uploading it to my XB harddrive or burn DDVs; - Region FREE DVD playing; - Listen to internet radio and many many other things I do not even know yet. It is a home entertainment system now and all it took was a 70 € chip and some time to upload the software onto my XBox by FTP. How's that for a salespitch?
