That was with the new judge.... it was mostly for planning ahead and getting familiar with the case. I think there has been a date set for a formal hearing in April. I am sure there is probably something in the archieves.... but it would be a lot to go through. There has been a lot of posting on Acacia.

hey Serge, honestly, if you were a new guy starting out today and busting your ass to make money and then this Acacia thing comes along and you got a letter, would you just ignore and keep pushing forward, or would you give it serious attention?

I'm at the point where I'm ready to launch, everything is all setup and ready to go, but this acacia issue is making me pause because of the fear of getting fucked.

newb,
if you are about to open up,
Acacia should be the least of your worries...

you have so many obstacles ahead of you, that chances are you'd be out of buisness looooooong before you have altrecations with Acacia.

you have a good few years 'till the case with homegrown is resolved, use it wisely

urpdance:
it shouldn't....
the other obstacles like:
name recognition
traffic
processing , etc are much more immediate and much more severe...

Worrying about Acacia at your stage is similar to
Cancer patient with metostazis worry about high blood preassure which might kill him 5 years from now...

This is really interesting:

Patent Office Reviews Disputed Web Patent

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - In an unusual move, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is considering whether to revoke a patent that Internet experts claim could hobble Web browsing and online commerce.

The office's top patent-examination official has ordered a review of a patent that covers the ability of Web browsers to display multimedia content, the office confirmed on Thursday.

PTO Deputy Commissioner Stephen Kunin ordered the review after Internet engineers said the patent did not cover an original invention and would cause massive disruption for Web users, spokeswoman Brigid Quinn said.

The whole story is HERE
