Does it impact you americans at all? People from europe being paid in USD have been hit pretty hard, I know I have. My business has grown quite a bit, yet I make less euros than earlier. Which sucks.
All retards on gfy have comments like "if you don't like usd, don't use it".. fuck that, do I have options? "Move to usa if your income is in usd".. yeah, I can just move into usa..I'm not a fucking mexican, I'd get kicked out after 3 months. whoopee. "make more signups to make up to it", no shit sherlock.. really, I'm trying to cut down on my signups.. signups = bad.
Does anyone have any creative comments about this. I'm not a hater, but I hate retarded remarks.
I just felt like ranting since I've vouched not to post on gfy for a while. sorry.

TGF, us, americvans, are not affected by US$ much...yes, it costs more to travel, but...the price of tix went down, so this si not an issue.
If I were in your shoes,
I'd open a DOLLAR acount.
as we all know, currencies, like any other commodities, fluctuate.
Today Euro is high, yesterday dollar was high and tomorrow it all gonna change again.
This way you avoid losses on currencies COMPLETELY

I have a $ account and I keep all my income there. But, unfortunately I need to buy things like food sometimes.
Lucky for me that my hosting, content and every expense is in usd. Otherwise I'd be fucked.
I better tap into the finnish market and take it over, and get payments in euros.

Right now I think the US is happy because it helps export more goods from the US, and I also think the EU is happy because it will have a positiv effect on inflation, and since most EU countries have debt in US dollars, then it will be cheaper for them to pay back loans etc.
However it will impact the US negativ if the dollar gets too low, since then investors will slowdown their investments in the US, and it will also impact the EU because their products will be more expensive on the world market.
My guess is another rapid fall in 5-10% range, and it will make either the US or EU do something.

I guess being on GFY at that time prevented you from looking ahead...
this si like an investment porfolio...
doesn't matter where the market goes, mine is very stable and collects interest
;-))
you can do the same with currencies.
Unfortunately I have yet to make my millions... so even though I have small amounts of money in euros, it won't make me feel warm and fuzzy since I'm more intrested in the money I still have to make.

There's a simple point regarding US currency exchange rates that webmasters sometimes miss. The US Dollar was historically high in the late 1990's. All that has happened is it has returned in the direction of it's historical norm. The US dollar index today is about the same as it was in 1995. The adult internet really took off at just the time the dollar was moving to a relative high. Many webmasters started in this period and think of those rates as "normal". The 1996-1999 dollar, though, was not "normal". 1996-early 2002 was a period of an UNUSUALLY strong US dollar.
This is further exacerbated for European webmasters since the introduction of the Euro occured in the same time period and most younger people's recollection of exchange rates only goes back that far.
Welcome to Normal. Population, 12.

This may seem like a smartass remark, but it's meant to be serious.... Why don't you start a paysite and charge in Euros. I know there's lots of EU webmasters that would be willing to promote it and I think guys in EU like porn as much as US guys...

It's under consideration.
But We are going to make a finnish paysite for sure that will indeed charge in euros, I don't know whether or not we'll be making that available for affiliates though.

Try converting US$ into UK£ and then you'll see a world of hurt.. but it's something I've had to get used to, I keep my dollars for when it's strong against the pound and then change it...
at $35 per sign-up it means the difference between:
$35 converting into £17
and
$35 converting into £26
One question I do have is why you say “signups = bad”?
I’m a firm believer that sign-ups = very very good

Sarcasm doesn't transfer very well over BBS's I assume.
Anyways, also regarding Wizzo's suggestion.. most of my income has been coming from other webmasters for designs. So I can't start charging euros for my designs.. US based clients for some reason do not want to send euro wires. So I always get my payments in USD (even from european webmasters for some peculiar reason)..

I was sarcastic there. lol.

I'm not overly pleased about the weak US dollar, especially in comparison to the Canadian. It's been a LONG time since the Canadian dollar looked so good, and I assure you it's not because of a stronger Canadian economy, but a weaker US one. I'm stockpiling US money in a US account and only taking what I need, because eventually the tables will turn again. When they do, I will be ready for them. It's as good an excuse to save as any, I guess.
The Federal Gov't is printing money like mad. They are purposely deflating the dollar because it is a cheap way of helping the US economy. It makes US good cheaper thus helping manufacturers and those who export out of the Country. It also helps adjust trade imbalances.
While it does not effect most Americans, I think that the Bush Administration is going to far - I think currency should be set and controled by free markets.

'In my lectures throughout this nation, and in my appearances on many radio and television programs, I have sounded the toxin that the Federal Reserve System is not Federal; it has no reserves; and it is not a system at all, but rather, a criminal syndicate. From November, 1910, when the conspirators met on Jekyll Island, Georgia, to the present time, the machinations of the Federal Reserve bankers have been shrouded in secrecy. Today, that secrecy has cost the American people a three trillion dollar debt, with annual interest payments to these bankers amounting to some three hundred billion dollars per year, sums which stagger the imagination, and which in themselves are ultimately unpayable.'
'A central bank always imposes a tremendous burden on the nation for "rearmament" and "defense", in order to create inextinguishable debt, simultaneously creating a military dictatorship and enslaving the people to pay the "interest" on the debt which the bankers have artificially created.'
'These developments following the passing of the Federal Reserve Act proved every one of the allegations Thomas Jefferson had made against a central bank in 1791: that the subscribers to the Federal Reserve Bank stock had formed a corporation, whose stock could be and was held by aliens; that this stock would be transmitted to a certain line of successors; that it would be placed beyond forfeiture and escheat; that they would receive a monopoly of banking, which was against the laws of monopoly; and that they now had the power to make laws, paramount to the laws of the states. No state legislature can countermand any of the laws laid down by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors for the benefit of their private stockholders. This board issues laws as to what the interest rate shall be, what the quantity of money shall be and what the price of money shall be. All of these powers abrogate the powers of the state legislatures and their responsibility to the citizens of those states.'
Ask yourself why we defend Israel?
Ask yourself why the Federal Reserve is not owned by any Americans.

Like I said, the general population can't even spell fractional banking, so uncovering the conspiracy falls on deaf ears.
