fellow Buckeye sent this to me....kinda funny stuff
Q: What is the status of the wolverine? Is it endangered or threatened in the U.S.; what is its world-wide status? A: Within the U.S., the wolverine is not federally listed as endangered or threatened under the Endangered Species Act. Various States have their own classifications dependent on how they view the status of the wolverine. Ohio has a kill on sight law protecting any individual who kills any wolverines who cross the state line, thus eliminating this vermin from civilized areas. The IUCN (International Union of Conservation and Nature) Red List classifies the wolverine as follows: 1994 IUCN Red List Categories Q: Does the wolverine have a natural enemy? A: The mountain lion, wolf and bear are predators of the wolverine. However, the human is recognized as the primary predator of the wolverine. Also notable is the wolverines susceptibility to the Buckeye. Often these dumb rodents eat the buckeye and suffer a nasty death from either the poison in the nut or their inability to pass this EXTREMELY TOUGH nut through its system. The wolverine then becomes nothing more than nutrients after it has decomposed for the buckeye seed to become a beautiful tree. Q: Do wolverines hibernate? A: No. The wolverine is not a hibernating mammal. It is extremely restless in sleep because of its self doubt in achievements. Due to its insecurity, it requires developing pathetic terms like "Leaders and Best," and "Hail to the Victors" as forms of bravado to try and intimidate superior animals and humans alike. Q: Is the wolverine a relative of the weasel? A: Yes. The wolverine is the largest land dwelling member of the weasel family. (didn't need to adjust that one, LOL!) Q: When is the breeding season of the wolverine? A: Breeding seFAQ... the wolverine.ems ason occurs from June through August before the beginning of football season which ruins their confidence and self-worth. The species exhibits delayed implantation when overcoming erectile dysfunction and the fact that very few males achieve sexual maturity. The young, known as "kits", are typically born during February and March. Unlike the youth of most animals, these are very ugly. Q: Can the wolverine climb trees? A: Yes. Although not considered to display arboreal behavior because of its fear of the buckeye tree and inability to distinguish that tree from others because of its small pea-sized brain. Q: How much does a wolverine weigh? A: There is sexual dimorphism in the wolverine, with a typical adult female weighing 200-400 lbs. and adult male 100-140lbs. Q: Are wolverines carnivorous? A: Yes. The wolverine is carnivorous and its food habits are weighted to scavenging. Again its pea-sized brain makes it difficult for this animal to track, catch and kill active prey. It sometimes will eat the fecal matter of other animals, since it has NO SENSE OF TASTE in order to gain some leftover nutrients. Q: How large are wolverines when they are born? A: Wolverine "kits" are typically 4.33"-4.72 in length and weigh 3.5-5.11 ounces at birth. They are covered with white natal hair, their eyes are closed and they are truly altricial (helpless at birth, and sometimes well into adolecense). Q: Does the wolverine have any other common names? A: Yes. Some of the names that are still used in North America include; carcajou, skunk bear (because they smell sooo bad), Indian devil and Buckeye fodder. |

And a Buckeye is a tree with pretty flowers. It is more commonly referred to as a Wolverine pissing stump.
Let's chat on Saturday. Shall we say 12:30 pacific time? Perhaps we could have a beer with Krenzel. I hear he keeps a case on ice in his car. |

Ah.... the Michigan/OSU rivalry... *sigh*
Growing up in Toledo, Ohio - my father says "too close to that Michigander border" I'll never forget the look on my dad's face the day I came home with my first blue and maize sweatshirt. He brought out his OSU diploma, showed me his yearbook, talked about family pride... he blamed the proximity to the border for my traitorous love of the Wolverines. lol I was a MAJOR disappointment for sure... We usually watch the game together and argue through the whole thing - lovingly of course. But this year - while I'm in LA for the Webmaster Access - he will be poisoning my kids with his scarlett and gray... I just hope I don't come home to a couple of little buckeyes! Wish me luck guys - hopefully this thing doesn't skip a generation. *shudder* GO BLUE!!! |

And, while we are on the subject:
The three most recognizable college fight songs are: University of Michigan USC Notre Dame Most people would not be able to identify the Ohio State fight song. And while we are at it: Which college's marching band was the first to perform Ohio State's singature script Ohio???? The answer: The University of Michigan We had to show them how to do it. Absolutley true. Here is a pic of Brutus in 1980: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA |

yup Equinox
************* Billionaire Goes on Spree (AP) An old man inherited a little over $1 billion dollars. He had three sons. He told his sons that since he now had all this money, he would like to know what each of them would like to have. He stressed that MONEY was no object. His first son said that he had always wanted a Jaguar. His father went out, and since money was no object, bought him 7 Jaguars in different colors, so that he would have a different one to drive every day of the week. His second son said that he always wanted a motorcycle. So his father went out, and again since money was no object, bought him 30 new motorcycles: 10 dirt bikes, 10 Hogs, and 10 touring bikes, so he would have a different bike to ride every day of the month. His third and youngest son was only 8 years old, and the little guy said that he simply had wanted just a Mickey Mouse outfit. So, money being no object, his father went out and bought his son the University of Michigan. |

Oh that is just hysterical. Little brutus can rhyme dirty words!
I suppose I could come up with a dirty version of the Ohio State fight song, but nobody, including me, knows it. Problem is that it's only played when you score points and since Ohio State has only scored 266 points this year (as compared to Michigan's 353 points) it really hasn't been played all that often. |

We'll see how Blue does against the best rushing defense in the country... I see a similar score like last year. 14-9 for the Bucks. If the offense won't score, the defense will. |

An Ohio State alum and a Michigan alum are sitting in a bar having a drink.
In walks an old man with an alligator. The old man asks the two alums if they want to see a neat trick. The alums both say they would love to. The old man prys open the alligators mouth, pulls out his penis and inserts it in the alligators mouth. After holding it there for 30 seconds, he smacks the alligator on the head hard and just before the alligator clamps his mouth shut, the old man removes his penis. The alums are amazed and the old man asks them if they would like to try it. The Michigan alum responds: "no thanks, I think I'll pass" The old man turns to the Ohio State alum and asks him if he wants to try. The Ohio State alum responds: "you bet I would, but if you hit my head as hard as you hit that alligator, I'm gonna kick your ass" |

I see it this way:
After the dark period of Cooper, there has to be a bright period following. Jimbo Tressel is doing a great job, and I am confident that we can and will beat Michigan. Navarre is pissing his pants because he doesn't want to lose for a third time in a row. May the better one win. All the smack talk before the game is not gonna mean anything ~ until the second of the kickoff on Saturday. GO BUCKS! |

What's the difference between a University of Michigan fan and a carp?
One is a bottom-feeding, scum sucker, and the other is a fish. ***** University of Michigan fan walks into a doctor's office and removes his hat to reveal a frog sitting on his head. The doctor asks, "How can I help you?" The frog replies, "I was wondering if you could help me get this wart off my ass." ***** Two University of Michigan fans were walking down the street when they came upon a dog lying on the sidewalk licking and cleaning his groin like dogs do. The first University of Michigan fan says to the second, "Boy, I wish I could do that." The second University of Michigan fan replies, "Yeah, me too. But I wouldn't try it." The first University of Michigan fan asks, "Why not?" The second University of Michigan fan replies, "Because I'm afraid the dog might bite me." Last edited by RichC at Nov 19 2003, 02:31 PM |

We will see, we will see, we will see.
And yes Grimm, I would stoop that low. I need to in order to be on the same level as a buckeye. OSU has a great rushing defense. That is where it ends. Offensively, OSU ranks no higher than 79th in ANY category. You do beat every other time in the world in one category though: Games won by questionable calls: OSU #1 |

i seem to remem er a couple years ago a rookie QB coming into the bvig hole and coming away with a win. and i watched him do the same at the shoe....
and we may not have the flashiest offense, but navarre is downright horrible, and perry wont get 50 yards. itll be another barn burner, but tOSU will walk away with the big ten championship. not to mention the fans in the big hole are the quietest fans on earth. itl.l be like a home game. anyway i am pumped, ready to go, and lloyd car may be able to get an assistant coaching job under tressel if he begs hard enough at least hes better than gary moeller (i slapped my waitress because my martini wasnt strong enough

games lost by wolverines. 2.
games lost by buckeyes 1. games lost last year by wolverines 4 games lost by buckeyes last year 0 just win baby, something TSUN hasnt grasped since griese was there. also, comparing krenzel to navarre is apples to oranges. navarre throws the ball nearly 4 times more per game than krenzel, its a different offense. tOSU.. #1 in run defense Meatrchicken...do they even have a run defense? and chris perry? he rattled off 600 yards against the powerhouses of houston and central michigan. and you try losing the #1 returning back in the country and going 10-1. you cant even go `10-1 with a complete team. you lost to a substandard pac 10 team, simply because navarre cant hit his receivers. Iowa got you pretty good. not really a problem for the buckeyes. and you want to tell me that TSUN is head and shoulders above tOSU? sounds like you might be thinking with your heart and not your mind. Navarre is a joke, he puts up big bumbers against patsies, but a good defense, a couple sacks, and he throws the ball like ray charles trying to hit the side of a barn. yes it will be a great game, as always. but naysayers beware, Tressel owns michigan, finds a way to beat them even without the same caliber offensive talent. good think for your circus catch receivers, or navarr would have been run out of ann arbor by now. lets just see how he likes smith, scott and andersonup the middle, hawk fraser and reynolds off the end.... shut down corners.... not going to be an easy day. im not guanranteeing a win by any stretch of the imagination, but it w2ill be a tight one.

good article
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/columns/stor...herb&id=1665638 By Herb Gould Special to ESPN.com In the pantheon of great players who have played at two great college football schools, Ohio State and Michigan, Craig Krenzel and John Navarre wouldn't seem likely to etch their names. Just days ago, people were wondering out loud whether the Buckeyes might be better off with backup Scott McMullen, who has shown a good passing arm in significant relief work this fall. Demanding Michigan fans have been hurling insults at John Navarre virtually throughout a career that has a had a lot of impressive moments. And yet, here they are, a pair of quarterbacks who take as many shots off the field as they do on the gridiron, getting ready to take the snaps when No. 4 Ohio State and No. 5 Michigan meet for the 100th time Saturday. INSIDER COVERAGE Team Report Sitelines Recruiting Team Report Sitelines Recruiting Team Report Sitelines Recruiting Team Report Sitelines Recruiting Team Report Sitelines Recruiting Team Report Sitelines Recruiting Team Report Sitelines Recruiting Team Report Sitelines Recruiting Team Report Sitelines Recruiting Team Report Sitelines Recruiting Team Report Sitelines Recruiting Become an Insider This is a showdown worthy of that 100th renewal of hostilities. The winner will be the outright champion of the Big Ten. If Ohio State prevails, it will remain in the hunt for a second straight national championship. If Michigan is the victor, it will earn a berth in the Rose Bowl for the first time since it won the 1997 national championship. And whatever you do, don't tell Michigan coach Lloyd Carr and Ohio State coach Jim Tressel they're going into this game with less than the kind of quality one would expect from the quarterbacks in this top-five showdown. "I'm not sure how many quarterbacks in the country have won more games than John Navarre and Craig Krenzel," said Ohio State coach Jim Tressel, who gently needled Krenzel's critics when he came back from an injury to lead the Buckeyes past Michigan State on Nov. 8. "That's the measure of a quarterback. They're both excellent leaders, and they're both very smart. They've led their teams to extraordinary feats. "Exactly who they get criticized by, I don't know," Tressel said. "But they're both darn good ones. They're both big strong guys, they're both tough, they both throw the ball extremely well and they're smart about what they do. I don't know what they don't have that you'd look for." Unblinking scrutiny comes with the territory for quarterbacks at Ohio State and Michigan, said Wolverines' coach Lloyd Carr said. The recent boom in television highlights shows, sports-talk radio gabfests and Internet chat rooms has made it open season on college football stars. "The change we've had in technology in the last 10 or 15 years has certainly exposed them to a nationwide play-by-play analysis," Carr said. "A lot of times, they get criticized when protection breaks down or the receiver runs the wrong route. A lot of things go into being a quarterback, and part of that is being able to withstand the scrutiny that goes with it." While the complaints can be wrong as well as hurtful, the relentless opinions and analysis have an upside, Carr said. "You have to be extremely tough mentally to play those positions because you're going to be held to a high standard," the Michigan coach said. "You have to either surrender or fight. And they have both fought very well. There's no question that if you can survive it, it gives you an experience that very few people have to endure. And in the final analysis, it makes you stronger." Count Carr as a fan of Krenzel, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound pre-med major who looks like he'd be comfortable at strong safety, if not linebacker. With the Buckeyes 24-1 in his two years as quarterback, though, he seems to be lining up in the right place. "When I look at quarterbacks, the thing I look for is intelligence and toughness first," Carr said. "Krenzel is a great decision-maker. He plays within himself, he plays within the offense. You have a guy back there that understands the essence of the game is winning. It's not about statistics, it's not about how many passes you complete or how many touchdown passes you throw. It's about winning. That's what I like about him.'' Navarre, who's 30-10 as a starter and closing in on a number of Big Ten records to go with the Michigan records already on his resume, is in the same mold. His inconsistency has been a source of frustration and criticism at times, particularly early in his career. But the 6-6, 228-pound Navarre figures to be ready when the game is on at Michigan Stadium Saturday. Neither the Buckeyes' defense nor his maize-and-blue critics are going to keep him from doing his job as well as he can. "I don't want to call it pressure," Navarre said when asked about such a momentous meeting. "We're not looking at it from a pressure standpoint because we've prepared so hard the last few weeks. When you prepare, there's no reason to feel nervous. You just go out and play your best. Then the outcome hopefully works out for you." Krenzel also is used to letting criticism roll off his hide. That's especially true because the Buckeyes' offense has struggled mightily at times this year. Let other quarterbacks put up dazzling numbers. What counts is winning. And Krenzel knows 24-1 is the most important stat. "There's no doubt that when we're in a close game, we have a belief that we're going to win," Krenzel said. "We have a tremendous amount of confidence in each other. We have guys who are tough and never quit, who are willing to sacrifice themselves to go out and make a play when we need it." By the end of the day Saturday, one of these determined tough quarterbacks will be dealing with a great disappointment. Krenzel and Navarre may be rough-and-tumble players in the Big Ten mold, rather than the slick throwers who tend to come from warmer parts of the country. But win or lose this weekend, both of these guys have proven they are winners.

Well since we're gonna throw in close games this year, let's analyze who OSU has squeaked by:
San Diego State Bowling Green Penn State Purdue Loss to Wisconsin 7 points Michigan: Loss to Oregon and Iowa by total of 6 points Beat Purdue 27 points, the only other still ranked team on their schedule. Only other close game was Minnesota and MSU, the rest blowouts. How's it feel OSU to be 14 points from being a 6-5 team? Aside from all that, doesn't really matter who wins this game, even though Michigan will, but the winner is more than likely not gonna make the Sugar Bowl unless USC stumbles this weekend and I don't think it matters who plays against the Sooners, they're getting blown-out. |

and as far as ifs and buts go, if they were candy and nuts, then every day would be christmas. margin of victory counts for nothing, it isnt even a factor in the bcs (for good reason, as teams would run up scores on teams like houston and centralmichigan, embarassuing needlessly low d1 and 1-aa programs) imagine that, the best team over the last two years doing with smart ball, ball control, great defense and special teams...kinda reminds you of the NFL of old. chuck it all you want, win by 100, i dont care, ill take 14 wins in a row with unimpressive offensive numbers, against a hell of a schedule, every single year of my life, god bless tress. so yeah, im happy, you?
