As I eagerly await my autographed copy of Brother Kevin's book...I figured I'd go out and see what the customers on Amazon had to say about it seeing its rumored that he didnt write it to begin with....lo and behold the first review I find!

This book cuts to the chase, and exposes what was, currently is, and will continue to be the weakest link in computer security... the human element. Historically, people seem to take the path of least resistance. Give them a reason to believe you are who you say you are, and they will accept it. Give them a reason to think you're helping them (even with a problem they never knew they had until you pointed it out to them), and they will put at your disposal all their tools and information. We won't be able to make much inroads into security (of any kind) until we being to change the essence of human nature... and that, my friend, is unlikely to change. Kevin Mitnick tells it like it is -- from the voice of experience. As obvious as some of the pretexts are, they worked for him... and will likely continue to work for the next generation's social engineer. Remember, the difference between truth and fiction is but a state of mind. Persuasion is still the key element... one that Mitnick has mastered. Read, learn, and avoid the simple mistakes of others. Thanks for the book, Kevin.

I scanned the book. It was so boring that I couldn't read it. For young hacker/cracker teenagers, they may be impressed. The poor hacker/cracker kids in Portugal may be impressed. Strangers who have been social engineered by KM may be impressed. But for all of us who know Kevin Mitnick, we know the book is bullshit.

KM is a backstabbing ungrateful FAT FELON FUCK. KM cannot write. He pays others to do all his writing, including girlgeek. I was his writer while he was in prison. The writer of this book is William Simon. KM gave him notes, and now sits back and takes credit for writing the book. Poor Simon! He is a respected writer. I bet he had to bite his tongue and keep his thoughts to himself about Mitnick. He must have really needed the money to work with a convicted career criminal who broke into so many corporations...not because of his hacking skills but because of his bullshitting skills.

How much did Mitnick charge you for the book? Did you also have to pay S&H fees? Mitnick needs you, Gonzo. Whenever he needs somebody, he signs their books. Did you see what Mitnick sold on eBay? What a bunch of crap! He really believes that he is *somebody!* Well, the FBI and the US Govt also believe he is somebody. Yep, a crook! A lying crook! A crook without a conscience! As far as that stupid government site.....don't you know that every prisoner who has been charged by the government either cooperates, goes to trial, or dies! The percentage of those who go to trial and fight the federal government is something like 5% or a very low figure. I'm sure sarettah will correct me if I'm too far off in the numbers.

Kevin Mitnick is the one who cooperated with the government. Mitnick is the one who caved in and sold out. By cooperating with the government, he made it impossible for his codefendant to go to trial. Mitnick is accusing everyone of cooperating when he is the one who turned yellow. I was on the phone with him and his attorneys almost every day. I heard the discusssions. What I didn't hear, Mitnick told me. Mitnick begged me to give information to his co-defendant and their attorney, Richard Sherman. My phone bills grew and grew because I would always give in and place those long distance calls for Mitnick.

Do you want something in writing, Miss Peaches? I will call the FBI first thing in the morning and see if they can help me. If they can't, then I will call Christopher Painter who was one of the federal prosecutors in the Mitnick case. Most of this information should be in the public records. I'm sure if they can, they will help me. Perhaps part of the Mitnick deal was that certain files would remain sealed. Sealed or unsealed, Mitnick cooperated BIG TIME!
