We should own any clicks that come from the use of our name plus a pre-paid royalty?” The meeting did not end well, with sex.com going away with their feelings hurt. Does GFY or setgo.com pay Vivid $25,000 every time it uses its name? Inquiring minds want to know. Bad touch. We think friends should not let friends pick each other's pockets."

Didn't know Gary had a mommy. I thought he had many substitute mommys who have taken up residence at his home.
Gary reminds me of a little boy. He doesn't like to be disliked so he allows people into his life who should be BANNED. I have heard of many who have taken advantage of him. I would like to see Gary win his lawsuits, and then find a good manager for sex.com so he can relax and get on with his life AWAY FROM PORN. I still think there is a gentle soul hiding under all the porn crap. In the near future, I predict Gary will sell sex.com. Will you be the buyer, Serge?

Sex.com, a search Web site for sex-related topics, tried to sponsor a booth at a search-related advertising conference recently but was denied a sponsorship position by the conference's organizers, Jupitermedia Corp. So, Sex.com decided to hire a "walking booth." The booth turned out to be a scantily clad, long-legged brunette who sauntered repeatedly through the exhibit floor of the Search Engine Strategies conference in San Jose one day last week. She wore a bikini bottom, a mesh skirt and high heels. Her torn T-shirt -- with the words "Galaxy Search.com" on it -- showed off her decolletage. Adult-video aficionados among the crowd might have recognized the woman as Kym Wilde, a popular porn star. Grant Media LLC, a San Francisco company, owns the Sex.com and the GalaxySearch.com Web sites. Both are search sites, but only one is associated with the adult industry. Steve Klopf, the chief operating officer of Sex.com and Grant Media, said he was angry that he wasn't allowed to sponsor a booth at the show and wanted to make a point. "Here's us," he said, "We're not afraid to be part of the adult industry." Alan Meckler, chief executive of Jupitermedia, acknowledges that Sex.com wasn't allowed to have a booth at the show. "The overwhelming majority of companies would've held it against us," he said. But Mr. Meckler had no problem giving props to Grant Media: "This is the most creative way of someone getting booth space without paying for it."

Hey Serge!
I've only spoken a few words with you, usually at shows when I say "hello" to Sue. I used to see her all the time when I had an LLC with Gary Kremen. That LLC was pretty fucked up, and Sue was really the only person that would speak plain English when you asked a question. She was the greatest! So simply because you married her you're a good guy in my book. I'm always amused by you GFY postings. I have the same sense of humor. Your threads to Lensman are always entertaining. I have no idea what Gary's saying in his emails or phone calls, but I do know that Sue was one of a VERY FEW people that didn't try to take advantage of Gary when he first entered this business. Because of that I'm sure he misses her presence. People every day want to use Gary. He makes an easy target because, no matter what you think of him, he is a very giving person in his own way. Yes, he has some problems. Quite a few of them. Out of respect to Gary I never publicly voice any of his "short comings". The good things about Gary outweigh any of those... but few people see them. Gary opens up to very few people and I don't blame him. I consider myself to be one of Gary's real friends. I genuinely like him because I've seen the real Gary and not just the "business" Gary. And Sue has too. I'm sure as your wife she probably tells you more of the "bad" things. That's normal. You're a male, and like most males, you're probably at least a TINY bit jealous of any previous relationship she's had with other males, even if they weren't "romantic" relationships. And most women understand that and tell their husbands/boyfriends only the bad things about men they've known before. The only reason I'm posting this is because I really think your message to Gary was too harsh for public display... and I wanted to stick up for him. I have no intentions of creating a new enemy, so I hope you don't see it that way. -DP |
