It ain't me that needs to wake up. Good to be the King and all. I've been up for awhile, just got back from a teeth cleaning. I just love the Dentist.

I told my dentist that I hated visiting him even worse than going to the gyno

Thankfully he's a friend of the family so he knows I still love HIM - just hate what he has to do. He also recognizes the "inner baby" in me and is very kind and gentle.

Get or got your wisdom's out? My son's getting ready to get his removed. If you haven't done it already, the best advice I can give is to follow the dentist's directions TO THE LETTER, use lots of ice packs, and if they're impacted, but SURE to irrigate and keep it clean. I was bruised all over my mouth, down my neck, even on my chest. I asked the oral surgeon if he beat me while I was knocked out!.

Too bad I edited out my mistakes AFTER Ant quote me

No, they are to be taken out. More like yanked out. My bottom wisdom tooth has curved roots. It doesn't want to come out, and it's right on the main nerve.

This should be fun. Not!

OMG I HATE dentists with a passion. I'm completely dental phobic and cry like a newborn the entire time I'm in the chair. I had to have two teeth filled just before I flew out for the show...tried to leave twice before she was done.

Then this week, Alex fell off her bike and knocked a front tooth out...I'd rather deal with a compound fracture than a dental emergency but she handled it all very well. On the other hand I had to leave the room three times while she was in the chair so I didn't faint. :P

Fortunately I didn't get one of my 12 yr molars till I was 15, so they say the chances of me ever getting my wisdom teeth are very very slim. Prolly why I'm not all that wise.

Well, I am happy to say that I have never had a cavity in my life, but I did have two wisdom teeth removed and it was a harrowing experience...

The top one came out in two seconds, but the bottom one had the root hooked around the root of the next tooth. It did NOT show up on the X-Ray. In addition, the nerve on that side of my mouth was not where it is with most people. Soooo... the dentist is pulling on the tooth, not knowing that the root is caught and this thing is not coming out, I'm pulling against him trying to help, and the novocane is NOT working because he kept missing the nerve! I would yell, he would ask if my lip feels "fat," I would say no... etc... until he couldn't give me any more novocane.

We ended up packing the broken mess for the night and I went to another dentist the following morning. He had gas... I told him to knock my ass out and wake me up when it was over... It was a good thing too, because apparently, he missed the nerve as well. They told me they never heard anyone scream like that in 25 years of practice. The waiting room was packed when I went in, and it was empty when I left. The receptionist said I scared them away. hahaha

I remember nothing, other than a wonderful out of body experience.

Oh, and I had no swelling, no bruising, no nothing...

I guess I was the lucky one. When I was a kid I was told by the orthodontist that when my wisdom teeth came in it would be very painful and they would have to be removed because my jaw didn't have room for them. Sometime in my 20's I went to the dentist and he said hey, your wisdom teeth came in. I never even felt it or knew it until he told me.

I hate going to the dentist as well. I found a good one though. I call him the no pain dentist. His office is really cool as well. He was a fighter pilot in the Navy and won the top gun award so he has tons of cool pictures and plaques and stuff in his office.
