Would you download knowledge to your brain?

If you could plug into a computer and download any knowledge you wanted so that you knew it more or less permanently, would you?

Would you feel like you were cheating? Getting something for nothing?

Would this be good for the human race?

i dont think there is evidence that "knowledge" has decreased fighting, wars and human suffering a whole lot in the last few hundred centuries. it seems that the benefits of knowledge are relative to the negatives and they move in proportion to each other.

I'm guessing that unlike Johnny Nemonic this data would actually be usable to us and not need to be dumped to make room for more? If so, I'd do it, though I guess my big problem with it would be that since I'm sure that it would be very expensive then the powerful would just be more powerful and that's a scary thought. Conversations at parties would probably be really boring too.

I can't imagine anything more amazing than meditating with all of that information ... imagine if you could learn anything you wanted just by plugging yourself into a machine ... no stress, no pressure, just the ability to live in your new mind completely confident that you can take on ANY challenge that comes your way ...
