James Bond is suave and sophisticated...a scouser isn't

English actor Daniel Craig has been unveiled as the new James Bond, the film franchise's backers announced today.

Craig, 37, who starred in the 2004 gangster film Layer Cake, will replace Pierce Brosnan to become the sixth official Bond and the first blond actor to play the part. Craig had been the favourite to take the part from a list of contenders including Clive Owen, Jude Law, Hugh Jackman and former Bond Pierce Brosnan.

In my pre-web life I knew Bill Cartlidge quite well.

Better known for producing "Educating Rita" he was also an Assoc Producer of some of the Bond movies.Dunno if he still is.

But he told me once the only one that was any good was Connery.And that when he pulled a gun on you , you thought he would kill ya.When Roger Moore did you thought a flag would come out saying "bang" lol
