Quite honestly, I rarely read books to "learn". While there ARE some which I enjoy learning from, I almost always read for strictly for entertainment. My attention span is short so magazine, newspaper, internet articles hold my interest better and teach me more than reading a book would do.

Shit, I grew up mostly in the sticks. The only private school out there is run by home schooled fundamentalist xtians. Not everyone is fancy schmancy city folk.

i was kicked out of a private christian school in the 3rd grade. they got tired of a little kid who kept demanding tangible proof that God existed. instead, they just found reasons to beat me everyday (phsycially - by the principle). it was bizarre.

PD, one example is all it took to refute that jackass' ridiculous statement that there is a checks and balances system which makes academic fraud impossible. That's all my intention was.
I can give you numberous examples of right-wing ideologues fabricating and distorting statistics in academia too.
He says academic fraud doesn't exist, I say it is rampant. I believe it's more rampant in some areas than others, and those areas are the ones controlled by agenda-driven leftists, but that's my opinion, it would be hard to prove; whereas, proving that fraud exists is much easier.

I am inclined to believe my professor, but as I personally have not seen the statistics of old style Soviet incarceration, I am hesitant. As I know any slip will result in you riding me like a cheap Mexican whore.
That being said, the stats I posted previous that showed Russia as slightly trailing the USA in ROI, are stats that I personally have read that says that post breakdown Russia has resulted in an increase in ROI. So, if Russia is still sitting behind the USA in ROI, and that is post Soviet collapse... hmmmm
