i been wondering that too what would you do with all those 800 numbers I guess you need to know what each one costs and that sort of thing. But it seems to make no sense....are they forwarding them to phone sex numbers?

Actually, there is a market in 800 numbers, companies will often pay for good numbers (1-800-4my-idea, example). There is actually a major shortage of 800 numbers, which has lead to 888,877, and 866 numbers being used on a regional basis. So if a company wants a vanity 800 numbers, they are forced to "buy" the rights from the current number holder.

Sort of like domains, only slower.

Maybe they just need an open line to call their attorneys from whatever jurisdiction pulls them in for questioning?
