Dear Affiliates,

Some of you might have heard a buzz about AEBN developing a new sex device. We had the chance to demo the prototype for many of you in Vegas last year when it was in it's infancy. Well, I just wanted to write and let you know that the time is almost here. Over the next several weeks we will roll out a BETA version on a few of our theater brands. This test will not take place on any of your custom theaters. During that time we will run a series of tests that will determine when we will launch the full release which will hopefully be soon after.

I don't want the purpose of this letter to be me just hitting you with some canned marketing copy for this product. However, I do want you to know the significance of this new technology. "Real Touch" as we are calling it, is a device developed by mainstream scientists whose credits include Sony, Apple & NASA. Our president, Scott Coffman moved quickly on developing the technology after he was approached with it over a year ago. This is the same man who moved on VOD technology when people were telling him "Nobody wants to watch porn on their computer".

To keep this easy, the device simply plays touch. I don't mean just a stroke you up and down sex toy; I'm talking explicit details. The user feels every single specific movement in a blowjob or sex act. So detailed that it takes about 8 hours to program 20 minutes of footage because we go frame by frame to get every meticulous gesture. This is true virtual sex... but you can read all about the particulars and see it for yourself soon enough.

Many of us have been concerned about the growing popularity of torrent sites and the other illegal ways that some people are getting adult content now. I read it on the boards all the time. We have all lost some customers to this increasing problem. However, when this new device is released, customers will learn that they are only getting half of the experience without 'Real Touch".

This device and sexual experience cannot be downloaded from any illegal site so it gives us all a new money making avenue to pursue. Only watching porn will become something of the past for many people once they realize they can experience the feeling of sex with their favorite stars.

I hope you all will get behind it and give it the extra push it deserves on your site. We are putting into place a good payout structure to give you the incentive. It is my theory that if we can all create a consumer buzz about this product, we will surely prosper for years to come.

Here is an idea for your new product.
Include a SDK and watch it take off. Open source the s/w and you will have a stampede of users buying the hardware. Nobody has ever done that before in adult. You will OWN the market.

SDK= software developer kit. In other words, open the source code and create a freely available SDK so users could create their own programming for the hardware. An example would be the Legos Mindstorm kits. Legos Mindstorm kits became wildly popular because users could program it to do whatever they wanted.

If they do -- can you give me the patent registration number. I really want to read that one....

Helix, even without a SDK, I feel pretty sure RealTouch is going to make a huge impact because no one's done this before in adult either.

Goods need storage, shipping, get lost, damaged... etc... on the other side...

It can work as a basis for other online services, as a device, like a PC is.

- Zip codes (don't ship to those bad zip codes, don't ship to any place that sex toys are outlawed or restricted or require a special permit to sell).

- Anonymous status of users broken - not only are you getting their credit card, but you are sending the postman to their door with something.

- Timing: It takes X days to get the item to the end user, in which time they have lost their boner and they just don't spend.

I am confident there is a solid number of people out there willing to pay for these things and willing to recur, but I see this way more as something that is sold in sex shops and such, pretty much cutting the affiliate out of the deal.

The affiliates are a valuable part of the marketing plan.

If they werent we would have never announced it this early and you would have read about it in the magazines.

The only state left where it's illegal to sell sex toys is Alabama. OWNING them is perfectly legal. Toys don't have the same issues as DVD's, where you do still need to be careful about what zip codes you ship to, but that's an easy list to get.

The postman has been bringing sex toys to peoples front doors for decades. People that WON'T go into a sex shop, will do mail order, or order online. Most packages don't have "Orgasmitron 6000" printed in big red letters on the front.

Timing with toys is a LOT different than it is with visual images alone. The wait alone might increase their spend, because they'll be watching the content they get to feel when their package arrives. "Gee, who do I wanna fuck first?"

Affiliates should be jumping all over this. Especially now! With the US being officially in a recession, and "illegal tube site" problems - sex toys are going to be a bigger part of their programs. Toys are tangible, not something you can download. Affiliate promotion of this should be tremendous - because it's a tangible product that encourages the purchase of content. Why would they not promote something that's going to make them money selling content in a time when they are bitching about not being able to sell content because of tube sites?

A real, hands free fucking machine for men that allows for suspension of disbelief with their favorite content as a visual. Just that alone would make it amazing. I can imagine though, a zillion other potential applications for a toy like this, - and I know AEBN collectively is a lot smarter than just lil 'ol me. This is the beginning of the next generation of adult. Like I said before, I'd work for free just to be a part of it.
