We don't accept foreign money

I stopped at McDonald's this morning for a cup of coffee and paid with some loose change I had in the car. The girl at the drive-through window looks at it while she's putting it in the change drawer and then hands me back one of the coins and says, "Sorry, but we don't accept foreign money."

It was a Canadian quarter.

I didn't feel like arguing so I handed her another (American) quarter and said, "Sorry, I just got back from a trip to China and I guess that one was still in my pocket."

Her reply?

Oh, I didn't know they used pesos over there.

a few years ago, something like that happened to a friend of mine when he was visiting florida. It pissed him off. He owned a gas station. A while later an American visiting Toronto filled his tank and tried to pay with US Dollars, and Mario told him he didn't except foreign currency. Dude had to walk to a bank, change some money and walk back to pay Mario. Courtesy given and returned.

I'm sure you thought this a funny urban legend.....but it makes no sense?

He didn't except foreign currency? How does that work in the story? That means he took all foreign currency.

I'm guessing you realize that he meant "accept" and just felt like busting his chops but then again, considering he's convinced that he's perfect I suppose he deserved it.

perfection is always making sure you do what you promise on time with no excuses. A grammatical error is just that....an error...abrash, if you will. I would be loath to discuss perfection unless you can deliver it with no spelling errors.
as for the rest of the story, it is not an urban myth. I know Mario and he is quite capable of doing just that. Nice try boys.
