So I see Porno Dan has taken himself a job with KSEX as sales manager. I just wanted to wish him good luck with that. Radio is a very tough thing to measure ROI off of and my experience with it was its great for only branding individuals but not companies.

He faces quite a challenge after the mess Sean Trotter left the company in, the strange departure of Wankus and the ever creepy guy still running the show.

I just have to ask Dan one question. Since your boasting of big changes to come .... does that include making sure ex employees get paid for wages that they were owed almost a year ago?

Before you say you dont know anything about it...remember I was in LA when you were told about it.

Sure would heal a lot of hard feelings I continue to hear swirl around KSEX.

I think Ill try a new spin on Oprano Radio this year.

XXXJay Fired from KSEX

Porn Valley- KSEX put out the following word: KSEX prides itself on the unfettered irreverence of its on-air personalities and was delighted to broadcast and host the Rude.com $20,000 giveaway show entitled “A Very Rude Xmas” on December 21st 2007.

During that December 21st show, former KSEX on-air host XXX Jay of OCCASH demonstrated a lack of professionalism, lack of basic courtesy to the show guests, and a complete lack of any broadcasting ability or know-how.

The 13,000+ viewers and chatters that came through that 2 hour show were virtually unanimous in their disapproval over Jay’s behavior, and rightfully so. He acted in a manner unacceptable to KSEX management and we have accordingly terminated his hosting of any future KSEX shows.

It goes without saying that his actions, statements, and opinions during the December 21st show and subsequently, in no way reflect those of KSEX owners, staff or fans. Rude is here to stay and Jay is gone! Look for exciting new things in 2008.

That show insulted many folks ( amateurs ) over at rude. Personally, I have mixed feelings about the show and the whole rude format. That site is trying to be a tube site for traffic, a clip and pic distributor and a live web cam place all at the same time.

We have 3 accounts at rude. In all honesty, we only became involved after being solicited numerous times. The last pitch was "amateurs are making $3,000 a month" on our platform. I try anything that distributes clips and Jill does live cam work still, so we thought we would check it out. So far ... NO WAY any amateurs are making that kind of money. I do sell clips there regularly, I get 50% and they are DRM'd to keep the purchaser at rude. They have a new section for downloadable clips, to be opened in the near future. I will keep you posted. Not sure if I will place clips for download there ...

Why I left KSEX?

Here's a few reasons why I left KSEX. I kept my mouth shut and wanted to take the high road but when you post my real name and not adult industry stage name all over the net and then put out statements like what he made, it kinda pisses me off. I never "torpedoed" any relationships with sponsors. He did that all by himself as you will see below.

So industry, here's the juice you love. Everything below is documented and statements from any below sponsor, advertiser etc., can be given by contacting them directly as they all agreed to the be mentioned. The below is in random "I'm Pissed" order.

* When you send faxes to sponsors like Sex Date Network with different dates then what they agreed upon with their signatures on it, renews contracts without telling them then say its an accident..... Its time to leave ( emails and IM conversations )

* When a sponsor like Lucky Ass signs a contract but then has major financial problems and may lose his home and you tell him you will sue him for $5000...... its time to leave ( emails and Instant messenger conversations )

* When you tell your Program Director Rainy and Assis. Program Director Soxxx that a monkey could do your job...its time to leave. ( they dont need to be told how to run the company from an Insurance agent from Maryland )

* When your employees tell you they need a check because its Christmas time and you are vacationing in Hawaii and you tell them you will get it to them 2 days earlier then planned and its still will be a week late and "anything else is cumbersome"......its time to leave ( email )

* When I was doing Public Relations, Sales, SEO, daily website updating, running KSEX radio etc., and then told if I left it would just be a step back....its time to leave ( company is doing so well now isnt it ? )

Should I go on....OK

* When you brag about how you "sue people for sport"...its time to leave ( email )

* When you send someone a contract to become a partner and then make a public statement that I was only given a title to make myself feel better and was never a partner...its time to leave ( for the record, I refuse to sign anything with him but have full contracts sent to me to become a 50% partner and emails to staff saying Im his partner )

* When you bring in sponsors to get a company that since he took over was losing money and get it to almost a breakeven...and you blow the deals......its time to leave ( read below )

* When you interfere with a deal with the UFC to have them have our ( KSEX ) girls escorting fighters into the ring wearing KSEX t-shirts and will be on Pay Per View and DVD's and you send the owner a picture of your asshole and tell him to go fuck himself and blow the deal...its time to leave ( names can be provided if needed but don't think you want to speak with them )

* When you send everyone I spoke to a letter saying "Hi, I'm the owner" and they have no clue who you are ...its time to leave ( emails to individuals, corps etc., )

* When you lie and tell sponsors that KSEX is getting 400,000 unique visitors a day to the site and it doesn't get 4000....its time to leave ( email to Lucky Ass )

* When a server breaks that I have been paying for and you don't want to pay half only $500 to fix it and say you don't think KSEX Radio is that important part...its time to leave ( email to me )

* When you take away a time slot of someone like Powder who has done more for KSEX then just about anyone and give it to Porno Dan for a horrible show giving money away ... its time to leave

* When a friend of an employee breaks their ass to build your studio so you can have it done by June 1st and then you don't pay him in full and make him a settlement....its time to leave ( emails to contractor )

* When you tell your Program Director and Assistant how to do their job when you don't have a clue...its time to leave

* When you are so ignorant you send a possible sponsor an email saying how stupid they are when you meant to send me the email and they read it and tell you to go fuck yourself and you blow the deal .... it's time to leave ( email but would rather not say who )

* When you think you know how to write a press release in an industry you have no clue about .... its time to leave

* When a sponsor sends in an email asking for another package and you tell me to pull their ads even though they are paid til Jan 1st... its time to leave ( Pink Visual email )

* When you write to a paying member of the website for 5+ years and a loyal supporter and tell him off because you don't like what he said in the chat room....its time to leave ( email on website )

Is that enough? Pretty strange how Sex Date Network, Girls Gone Wild, Pink Visual, Clips 4 Sale, Lucky Ass etc have all cancelled their sponsorships after I left isn't it? Mark, John, Kim, Neil and Teddy are all pretty much on a first name basis with me and I speak to most of them daily via phone or instant messenger. This industry is very tight and for all the daily bullshit involved when push comes to shove we always have each others backs. The original owner of KSEX is turning over in his grave and having someone like this run this company and destroy its name is a disgrace. People, including myself loved that company and it has been destroyed because of people like him...in my opinion of course!

This will be the last press release regarding this ever from me as everything is stated above. Im not going to give him any more pathetic press that he so desperately needs.

Hasn't Dan built his entire porn "career" off of "content trades" ie., ripping off talent ??

Why would that end with his new job at KSEX, who has a history of paying PJs $40, the guests nothing and then selling off the content ???

Didn't Dan set up a deal with a mobile company for KSEX content ? From what I was told by numerous PJs, they aren't going to get a dime from that deal as well.

Dan and several other people set up one of his "content trades" several years ago under the guise of helping out a female performer in need.

My GF decided to help out by performing as well as holding camera. Fast forward 3 years, she still doesn't have a copy of the content, AND that content was put into a DVD and sold without any notice to the participants.

At Webmaster Access West in November, my GF approached Dan about a copy of the content and he promised to get her one. Now, two months later and no word from Dan. His excuse - that the content must be in one of his storage facilities back in DC and he has to go get it.

Interestingly enough, I was able to make a call or two and get the content for her myself from parties that were there.

I give XXXJay credit for standing up for what he believes in and calling Rude.com out for copyright infringement. Obviously the "Bro" factor was too much for Dan to overcome and he has remained silent on this issue.

Ive taken a few stabs at it. Heres my observation on it.
1. It generates little money but considerable hype.
2. Live radio is a waste and a pain in the ass. Its a lot of work.
3. The traditional adult radio model is broken.
Sitting watching a chat room and a webcam just doesnt pay off.
You either have a show that scares the fuck out of people with the truth like CJ and I did for a little while or you have these clowns telling stories of snorting cocaine off hookers asses.

I got another idea in mind. Dont care if it works or not. Im not the one that owes employees 40K and refusing to pay it.

Gonzo, every study I have seen of internet radio is the simple problem that it just doesn't scale well. The incremental costs of adding listeners isn't remotely covered by the potential increase in ad revenue. Every new listener cost bandwidth, and every X number of users requires a new server and the maintenance required, etc.

Something that loses money at 100 listeners just isn't going to scale up and suddenly become massively profitable at 200 users.

Gonzo, when you get back from the show, hit me up and mention "internet radio", I might have exactly what this business is looking for.

Vavoom Media Group Negotiating KSEX Acquisition Deal

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - A former on-air guest of KSEX has announced plans for his latest company to acquire the Internet-based radio station. Stephen Brown, president and CEO of Vavoom Media Group, has signed a letter of intent to acquire FastBroadcast Inc., which does business as KSEX.com. The station essentially has reached an acquisition deal with Vavoom Media Group, which has television, film, animation and radio presences.
The Vavoom brand first reached adult-industry aficionados when Brown and Ms. Vavoom appeared on Sunset Thomas' popular KSEX show "Sunset After Sunset."
Thomas later resigned from KSEX and signed with Vavoom to appear in television and radio programming.
"The irony is not lost on me," Brown said. "KSEX has deep roots in the adult industry. Everyone who is anyone in the biz has appeared at one time or another on KSEX. The archives alone contains thousands of hours of material. Add the KSEX cache, and you've got something very special. I look forward to integrating KSEX.com into the Vavoom brand."

Here's the history lesson....

Once upon a time, it was discovered that webmasters would tune in to hear some audio if the programming was interesting, taught them something or was just entertaining in watching people piss with each other in an audio format. To best of my knowledge Sharky Live was the first show. He ran it for CE, came on at a set time and day, advertised well in advance. It was just an hour or so show.

Next discovery is that people will pay to advertise on these things. And money in this industry is like blood in the water to a shark.

At one point you had Dokk with Albumside working out of a studio in his house equipped better than many small FM stations. Sound and production quality was top notch. His format was 24/7 with some live stuff and programs mixed in. The concept being webmasters listen while they work. And by all accounts he was getting some good advertising dollars.

Like everything else we do, the market quickly gets saturated as everyone tries to copy the success and pretty soon it's tough to make a buck and things sort themselves out.

Current day...wow, who listens to this stuff? Can you really get a sponsor to give you a check for a show heard by less than 20 people? Guess so. This is another broken economic system in our biz. You have dollars changing hands with NO ROI and stations being run solely for the ad dollars without any sort of clue about programming or talent.
