News sites are EXEMPT from duplicates, as far as I know because Google knows there are going to be a lot of those with the same story.

A little birdy tells me that most of these so called exemption rules only apply to sites with PR7 or better.

There's a great deal of confusion as to what is considered "duplicate content" and what will be penalized. The most common arguments are ones such as this; "How do news sites get away with posting the same news across several sites? Isn't that considered duplicate content?" Or, "What about all the article directories and people posting articles to 30 or 40 of them, isn't that considered duplicate content?"

Ah. Our business doesn't have extensions; just the number. And I typically don't use it. I have employees who run our outfits during the day. I communicate, when I can, via email and PM if need be.

Sorry, allow me to ammend that statement with a disclaimer:

I do not now, or have ever, worked for Google or any other search engine. My previous post is yet another in a series of theories that nobody really knows for sure. The information I receive from my "little birdies" are just as susceptible of being pure horse poopie as any other little birdy's.

Yet another theory (and I'm just pulling this one out of my pooper): I really don't think any one employee at Google truly knows their secrets. Kinda like the KFC Secret Recipe (I have worked for KFC as a youngster). Their coating gets mixed in portions at different facilities. Those portions are then shipped to a single location and combined. I think Google has many "specialists" doing different things, and they never actually communicate with each other, they just contribute their portion and then it gets mixed later. This sort of thing is not uncommon in a lot of industries, including film.

I'm not even drinking. How the hell did I get to start talking so freakin' much??? I'm gonna start drinking. Merlot anyone?

Not anymore. I used to, extensively. Then only when there was something special I wanted to promote for a brief period. For the most part now, my mainstream businesses have top listings for their individual niche. Although that sounds impressive, business is slow in the retail market which is why I always look to find something new, interesting, and creative. I try to diversify. The downside to that, as I've mentioned to you on another thread, I tend to spread myself thin at times and need to scale back to regain control.

Adwords is good. But if you're not careful, it can be unnecessarily expensive. You need to pay close attention to your campaigns. Yahoo!/Overture and MSN's Adcenter can be less expensive alternatives and still be very effective depending on your niche. Still the only big name that caters to the adult industry is Adbrite. I know there are others, but Adbrite has had the time to develop their brand.

I stand corrupted! What took me so long to respond was because I was reviewing Google's TOS. As mentioned, I haven't used Adwords in quite some time, and frankly, never for the adult industry. I was under the "wrong" impression that Google did not serve the adult industry.
