I have been in talks with a gentleman, working out all the details and we are pretty close to closing everything. Here is how it works;

You give out an E-Book for free, called How To Be a Player.. We have all seen this on Ask Men, the search engine sites, some dating sites, etc... over the last couple of years for $29.95 a shot usually.

You would be able to host the advert on your own server or send to a url with your link code, your call. The main point of giving out the E-Book is to get surfers to enter their e-mail address.

We then send them an e-mail, basically upselling them since they got the book for free, about a new 'private' dating site that has built in software to remove all traces of your presence there etc.. It is targetted towards people who want to date on-line without anyone finding out

So far early results are showing around $.50 per free book downloaded, not too shabby... Especially considering the book is free and you are giving out content to your users to boot. This is also without recurrings factored in.

You also have access to your e-mail database so you can send e-mails out to the e-mail addresses harvested from people you sent that downloaded the book as well. So pretty much, I personally don't see any downside and only alot of upside to it.

What do those of you still in Adult think about it? Skeptical of course, other than that.. What would be thoughts, concerns, or questions you guys would have if I work everything out and am able to offer this in the next couple of days? This would even work well on alot of non adult sites as well. Just curious as to what first impressions are

same concept as the 4free sites. I would give the book away, and access to the players club - which would be a password protected paysite that was nothing up upsells. Obviously you could add some sticky content. That way you can keep people around, creating a base to market to.

I think if done right, it could be solid.

Mike similar to the 4 Free Sites, however the different marketing approach makes the surfers feel less obligated I think. By not PUSHING products on them by making them visit certain pages to get the book, or even validating any links to get the E-Book it appears to be doing very very well so far from the stats I have had dropped on my lap, mind blowing actually.

Testing a batch of 100-1000 e-mails your way might be worthwhile though.

BTW Mike, these guys have some sort of a problem with selling adult products. Which is WHY it works out tremedously for adult site owners.

Look at it this way, we would run our upsell on it, getting all we care out of the list. At that point you can then e-mail them with an 'constantly updated' 4 free section and we would get nada from those profits - would be 100% you since you get to mail them as well. There you could come up with daily tips that would be in addition to what the E-Book already covers.

I think that would be the best way to incorporate something like that into this sort of a deal giving the fact these people have a problem selling adult programs. Ironic though, given what they are selling.. LOL
