Why didn't Greyhound offer up their buses for evacuation? Or any other private transportation company for that matter?

PD, you can't honestly tell me you think the majority who stayed in NOLA tried but weren't able to evacuate (besides those who were required to stay there).

I'm not flaming you Honey, just going to point out a few things you may not have thought about...

First, some of them have no family. Some of them have no family or freinds in other states. And, some of the ones that do have family and freinds in other states may have found themselves in situations where their family and freinds were poor also, and too poor to provide a way to get their family and freinds to safety.

From someone who has seen and at one point and time in her younger years lived not too far away from the project housing(which there is a lot of there), let me tell you... A lot of these people really had no way to get out on their own. They would have had to walk out of town(which some of them did after the storm) but I seriously doubt they would have had enough of a warning to get themselves out of harm's way before the storm hit.

What Clinton proposed about the buses would have been a good idea. They're using them now to evacuate people out of the city, so what would really be the difference of using them before the hurricane hit as opposed to after except some of the lives it might have saved...
