I don't know why, but I found that post fucking funny.
I always thought it was screwy that they used to broadcast bowling on Wide World Of Sports when I was a kid. If you can be a fat shit, smoke, drink, and eat cheese fries while doing it. It ain't a friggin sport. It's a game. (but it's fun though)
Unless you're in a league, finding several lanes is near impossible unless you go on a night the leagues don't play/practice. I would hazard a guess that Sunday is one of those nights.

We like Thursdays!
actually, aside from a few people on here...Thursdays aren't good for anyone....2 people have regular cam shows, i have a radio show, 2 others have *personal* things and my wife works
there are at least 5-8 people that never come to any of the thursday things you all do cause it is just a bad day in general...including me
I absolutely LOVE my state. Being close to Lake Michigan, going to Packers games at legendary Lambeau Field, my family of course, and all sorts of other great stuff here. That said working from home in this biz sometimes it sucks because you see a lot of events like this that you can't be a part of because of where you are located. <_<
It is a real excuse if you are full time student, have kids, husband, house to take care of etc. :P
May is a little more open since I won't go back to school until June, I am a weekend girl right now...Friday and Saturday...you have to remember I don't stay in the Big City. I always have at least a 3 hour round trip.

You can start my pity party any time now.
that is very understandable
Friday is usually good for me, i almost never have anything going on Fridays...how about anyone else?
This month I will go as planned...but next month i will plan everything around a Friday
sadly, I'm in the wron time zone, plus I'll be in Reno for the state boling tourney that day...
we have a great team going in and have a real chance of taking some prize money. Wed have a good balance of a regional pro, a newbie bowler who's finding his stroke and a consistant bowler...and then me...the beer runner and guy who shot 279 and followed with a 154 and 148 Wednesday night ;-)

Thursdays actually aren't planned or any other particular favorite day, last couple just happened to work out that way. I was fucking with you.
Weeknight stuff is rarely planned very far in advance, it just happens. That's why we created the mailing list, to get the word out. Hell, if I dont have anything going and someone proposes something, I'll go on just a few hours notice usually.
When we've planned stuff in advance, it's usually Saturday. That seems to allow the most people to attend and keeps traffic mostly out of the equation.
I appreciate you planning the thing, it's a thankless job. No matter what it is, when it is or where it is, you cant please everyone. So you throw it out there and those who can come and wanna come will, those who dont, wont.
Some of us will bend our schedules and show up whenever possible, I'll put myself in that category for this. I'll be there if at all possible.
I am going to try and plan at least one thing a month for everyone to do...and not just eating out, more stuff like bowling and shit....
I have also been landscaping my backyard for almost a month now, it is lookin pretty nice, I have a fire pit, tiki torches...all kinds of nice shit, as soon as everything is finished growing (like new grass), i will start having some bbq's over here
oh, and FYI, Andrew Kanuck from the boards will be in town this week...a few of us are heading to El Azteca and to their Claremont on Wednesday...anyone who wants to meet us there is welcome to join us...not sure of the time yet though
WhirlyBall, dubbed "The worlds only totally mechanized team sport", is best described as a combination of Basketball, Hockey and Jai-Alai played while riding an electrically powered machine, similar to a bumper car, called a WhirlyBug. Although the WhirlyBug resembles a bumper car, it is a far superior machine. Quicker, stronger and far more maneuverable, the WhirlyBug powers you and your team down court in a five on five game.
WhirlyBall is a team sport and a fun group activity. The playing court is approximately 4,000 sq. ft. and there are 10 WhirlyBugs on the playing court at one time, five red and five yellow. In one hand the player has a Jai-Alai style plastic scoop and in the other hand a steering crank. The ball being tossed around is a softball sized whiffle ball.
At each end of the court there are vertically hung backboards with a 15 inch hole in the center. Behind the hole is a plexiglass swing gate equipped with a buzzer to notify the referee when a score is made. The referee is the person sitting in the elevated booth above the court who will call play by play during the game, keep score and assess any penalties incurred. Before you go out on the court, the referee will go over the rules and give you a brief rundown on how to play WhirlyBall.
