We at Oprano are doing a stop gap redesign in the next few days to give more bang for there buck for our ever incresing valued sponsors and then we are doing a full scale redeign in order to make Oprano prettier and to give our sponsors more bang for their buck.

I used to find some cool programs and sponsors over there in the threads. Thats been a few years ago though.
Reminds me when having an IZOD shirt was all the rage back in high school... didnt matter that the redneck flannel shirts some of us wore were more durable ... we didnt look cool.
I see those guys on occasion asking ...paper or plastic.
You our sponsors are serious about business as they are looking for a return on investment and not to win a popularity contest.

I actually draw quite a few clicks from posting there and have picked up a couple nice mid-sized affiliates...so no complaints...
but that's from posting and being a smartass, as I don't have much knowledge of clicks produced from just banners...

The benefit of having a banner there is like any other board - you get to have a full sized banner in your sig and pinned messages.

True but, some people get away with having a full sized banner anyway as for a pinned thread.. an ICQ to a couple of the right people can ensure your threads stay in the top 10-15 threads pretty much all day long
That is the primary advantage of GFY, you can get your promotional messages seen by thousands of eyes sometimes in less time that traditional marketing methods would

very VERY soon my advertising dollars will be parking their hyper asses right here on Oprano for certain. already cleared it with the man and just waiting on all the redesigns and project completions to launch, and the DAY we kick open the doors to our new program its going to be announced where? Here, and thats it. Not because I don't want to make a big deal about it, its just IMO opinion this is the board to pimp on because of the variety of posters.
I have my fingers crossed that the company i work for advertising will be here for a very long time to come
I must say thank you to all the people we have gained from our advertising here on Oprano as well.
Kudos to you Nick and Gonzo , for making it possible for anyone to afford advertising again.
I can't speak for other boards, but I know any small to medium program owner that has to consider a budget, that the return on investment we have recieved from Oprano is doable and effective.
I am afraid if the price was 2 or 3 K per month that might not be the case for a company our size.
Not to mention that someone that sets up a tgp with our program and knows what they are doing produce a much higher return, than the ones that are just getting started and get less than 1,000 hits a day and pick the wrong sponsors so our 10% webmaster referral we gain and our 1% traffic skim do not amount to much from ten users like that.
However for the ones that know what sponsors to use, and how to move traffic around ( the shaarks and whales) that same system becomes much more profitable to us .
I can only imagine as a pay program sponsor that the quality differences over the quantity would equal less overhead ( time spent babysitting the young ones LOL) and a much greater return as well.
How does that rotation thing work anyway?
I always thought if you were an advertiser , that you werre in rotation and it was a random thing, is that not the case? anybody know?

As I told Far L yesterday... the tone of community is defined by the members that frequent it bot as lurkers and active participants. The active participants help keep things interesting and they draw people back to see what they have to say. Lukers and participants BOTH determine the success of the board's revenue by clicking on sponsors and signing up.
Its the members that make the difference. We just serve as hosts!
BTW the ads are totated on an equal unwieghted rotation in PHPads. So everyone gets seen and a chance at the click!
