I have been known to be a Soap opera junky.

I was hooked on General Hospital and Young & The Restless at one point. I would duck work after lunch to go home and watch it. Lucky for me there was the methadone clinic.

I'll watch drama/soapy style shows if they are really good. Desperate Housewives is campy and over the top but done in an interesting way.

One of my favorite tv shows I used to watch every week wa Party of Five when it was on. Damn good tv show and I have the 1st season on DVD. I'm pissed that it looks like the aren't gonna release the rest of the seasons.

Monday: 24 and CSI Miami. (Sofia Milos is still the ultimate MILF)

Tuesday: Nothing until The Shield comes back on.

Wednesday: Nothing until Nip / Tuck comes back on.

Thursday: CSI and Without a Trace.

Friday: Third Watch

Saturday: DIY channel, two episodes of Wood Works.

Sunday: Nothing...

I watch a lot less television than I used to. I've taken to a lot more reading these days...

I don't know what days they are on, but here's a rough estimate on what's showcased on TiVo:

Law and Orders (all of them if I can do it)
CSIs (all except NY and now MIA will be seen in repeats due to Medium)
Medium
Nip/Tuck
Shield
24
NYPD Blue
Third Watch
Sopranos (if they are ever on again.....)
Deadwood
Carnivale
Arrested Development
Simpsons
ER
Gilmore Girls
Vegas (will do repeats now that 24 is on)

Reality shows I like:
Real World
Airline
American Casino
Real World
The Apprentice
First few shows of American Idol when they have the bad people on it
Growing Up Gotti (yes, it's a trainwreck but it makes me feel like I didn't do such a crappy job as a mother to a son )

TiVo has gotten me watching more TV than I used to....

The Osbournes (yes I *am* the one still watching)
Six Feet Under (when it's on)
Sopranos (when it's on)
Carnivale (when it's on - loving it so far BTW)
Life as We Know It (my kids got me hooked on this)
ER (still the die-hard fan even though almost everyone is gone/going)
Will & Grace (my guilty pleasure show)

and.... I'll admit I love American Idol - we even voted last year. *hides in shame*

My fave is still the bad singers on the initial auditions.... but I do like the competition part - anyone know of a 12-step program for this? It's embarassing!

<_<

We also watch a lot of Discovery Channel, History Channel, Animal Planet and Food Network (love that Alton Brown!).... and hub has a thing for that surgery channel... unfortunately he always wants to watch it or those crime scene autopsies during dinner. Ick!

Forgot 6 Feet Under

Down stairs now and looking at my Season Pass, I also forgot West Wing and Rescue Me

I officially have no life.

With shows like 24 or Sopranos, i just wait awhile and buy the dvd box sets

Works ESPECIALLY well for 24.

Otherwise, i dont watch much TV, but when I do its usually:
Simpsons
Family Guy
Sex and the City (my housemate Jess MADE us watch it, so I like it now)
South Park
Scrubs

Anything quick and funny that i can walk away from halfway thru and not worry about it.

There's a lot of stuff I'll watch for background noise, including anything from The Simpsons to old re-runs of The Munsters and just about anything on The History Channel, TLC or any of the Discovery channels.

The things I'll actually make it a point not to miss and get violent if anyone interrupts me while I've turned the lights out to watch is a much much shorter list. Off the top of my head:

--pretty much whatever HBO is showing on Sunday night, although Six Feet Under has totally jumped the shark and I bailed on his after about 4 episodes of the most recent season. Sopranos, Carnivale, Deadwood, The Wire are all good. I fear The Wire wont be back either though, requires a longer attention span than the average TV viewer has these days and didn't draw good ratings despite being one of the best dramas on TV.

--The Shield

--I'll give the new Battlestar Galactica a chance

--Rescue Me almost has me hooked

I purposely end up missing out on a lot of good shows. Yep, even go out of way to miss them. Every new one I add is another hour lost, maybe interestingly and entertainly lost.

Yes, probably would be good if I revced up the DVD recorder or got TIVO or something so I could watch them at my quiet time, I know. Just seems like too much trouble.

I read Rule of Four a few months ago and I think I may have recommended it here? Loved it

Anyone read the new Crichton book? My son got it for Christmas and I'm hoping he finishes it before he goes to Japan so I can nab it :P

Oh Jeeze... General Hospital was big when I was in college. Robert Scorpio, Sean Donnelly, Felicia & Frisco and the TREASURE.

One time a few years ago I was home sick from work and I caught GH. I hadn't seen it in ten years and it seemed like only ten minutes had passed in the show's timeline. hahaha

I got my boyfriend hooked, and he has been working nights recently so during the day he now watches it on his own....FYI Felicia is still on she is Married to Mac Scorpio Roberts brother...At my old job my secretary use to watch it too and we would be talking about it like real people.
