Interestingly, this has been, from what I can read, run "outside the loop", away from washington. Makes you wonder what other task forces they have out there.

Anyone out there get a knock at the door recently?

No other task forces Alex.

How can you accuse such a thing.

Everyone knows that this administration is forthright and upfront about what they are doing.

BUSH IS BEST FOR THE USA

2257 changes are greatly required because everyone can see without them they do not work (it is simply a technicality that there has never been any 2257 inspections under the current requirements)

FREE SPEECH ZONES a half mile away from the people that are being protested are perfectly constitutional, denying people the right to protest in a public area is A-OK (after all the right to free speech is only there to protect the speech we like)

It is fine to throw someone in jail because we think they might be a terrorist, and why the fuck would someone we say is a terrorist need a lawyer. If we say they are a terrorist, then they are a terrorist.

The Iraq war was perfectly justified, as proven by the massive stockpiles of WMD's we have found there (what was there - one empty chem shell - and it was US made) - but of course that was not the reason we went in, it was because of the Al-Queda connection, because everyone knows that Iraq was supporting terrorist organizations that meant to harm the US and also was instrumental in helping with 9/11 (what - there is no connection whatsoever, and Iraq posed as much a threat to the US as a basket of puppies) - Thats OK, we are there to liberate Iraq from a brutal dictator, and based on how the Iraqi people are welcoming us with open arms (albeit small arms fire) it is obvious how much they want us there.

I will freely admit that with Kerry we don't know what we are going to get, but I sure as hell don't want another 4 years of this fucktard, egomaniacal, puppet of the Christian right in power with no re election to worry about.

But I am sure I am imagining all this stuff, after all I must be a tinfoil hat wearing, biased liberal media believing, conspiricy theorist.

Shit I must even be a LIBERAL seeing how I support such liberal causes, like the constitution - every fucking word of it.

Enjoyed seeing Kerry on The Daily Show the other day. Loved it when Jon Stewart asked if people at his rallies were required to sign a loyalty oath.

Anyone heard from Hooper today?

The article is contradictory. 'quietly arrested" as if the government must announce ahead of time when you arrest people for breaking the law. "expected to be announced Thursday" . As in, they are not secret.

Not a fan of Ashcroft (there hasn't been an attorney general that I've ever liked) but I don't see anything sinister here.

Haha. We should all personally send Ashcroft our list of credit car fraud people to arrest. I wish he had jurisdiction in Poland.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/08/26/cybercrime.probe/

Seems a P2P network was the biggest target (or at least the one the media is most interested in). Good quality digital versions of the movies online before they get released - sometimes before they even end up in theaters!

Seemingly moves made on phishing as well - plus some comments (not clear) on emails that infect computers (sounds like toolbars to me!). Let's see who got it up the ass on this one.

interesting article on wired regarding 2257:

http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,6...tw=wn_tophead_8

Quote:
According to established federal agency procedure, the proposed changes can be made law once the DOJ reviews and considers public comments. If the proposals are enacted, enforcement is expected to begin in late September or early October -- just before the 2004 presidential elections.
So nobody even really knows when these changes go into effect.

Very interesting.

I spoke to someone the other day who is involved with some of this. It is going to get ugly. We will see some of the people who we all know being led to cars with handcuffs on. Not to mention huge civil suits.

Karma can be a bitch sometimes!

Mike is correct - they already have a list of people and places to visit, and I will be surprised, if they wait until after the election, since this would be prime time news, where Ashcroft can have his victory speech...

10 weeks to election... and probably only 5 weeks or so, before inspections starts...

Man, small world... one of the guys picked up in this sweep was Jay R. Echouafni - from a company called orbitsat.

"Jay R. Echouafni, chief executive officer of Orbit Communications Corp. in Massachusetts, was indicted this week along with five others on charges that he hired computer hackers to attack his firm's online competitors. Prosecutors say the attack cost the competitors $2 million and temporarily disrupted Web sites for the Homeland Security Department and Amazon.com."

He bought a domain from me late last year.

Hmmm.
