If you could have ANY original work of art to hang in your home, what would it be?

Rembrandt's "The Night Watch" ranks up there for me, however I don't have a room in my house big enough for it.

Klimt's "The Kiss" comes to mind for me, but there are so many.

I saw this piece couple weeks ago in a Gallerie in Old Quebec

picture is kinda crappy, but it was a great piece.

I think some people value art too much by the name of the artist. This piece was done by a new artist, not well known at all yet....

Im still pondering buying it.... I have a huge wall at home that needs dressing up...

The one piece of original art I would like to have I may one day have
and I won't be happy when it happens

A beautiful yet simple pencil and charcoal of a child pulling a sled over snow by a tree

The piece was reproduced and published in the Baltimore News American many years ago (when they were still in business)
The artist was soon to graduate Le Merlui (sp) art school in Maryland
The artist was starting to recieve some recognition locally

the piece hangs in my Grandmother's home

The artist was my aunt .... who passed away 30 years ago at age 21

I'd like to have the Statue of Liberty, I think I could figure out a way to make a nice recurring income off of it.

From a financial point of view, Van Goh's Sunflowers, since to my knowledge it has fetched the highest price for a painting and it's legal to own it. Others, like The Mona Lisa may be priceless but not worth the risk and nearly impossible to sell if you had it since it would be illegal to own it.

From a personal taste point of view and value aside, anything by Degas.

Honestly I'd like to find more work from Emile Marchettini.. I recently purchased a few of his paintings, and they have quickly become my absolute favorite art in the house.

I'm not familiar with that name, do you have any of his work online anywhere?

The Kiss is a fascinating icon of the loss of self that lovers experience. Only the faces and hands of this couple are visible; all the rest is great swirl of gold, studded with colored rectangles as if to express visually the emotional and physical explosion of erotic love.

I'll take Dogs Playing Snooker as my 2nd choice

First choice, without even thinking for a second is Salvador Dali, The Metamorphosis of Narcissus

I like art work with a story, not necessarily a story *in* the painting, but a story of how it was produced and who by ... the stories of artists are always so interesting, I like to know what was going on in the mind of the artist when they produce a piece or the struggles they went through just to be able to paint.

Vick, excellent story & a priceless piece of artwork

My walls currently are filled with my own artwork ... some pencil sketches, some aquarelle pencil/watercolors, some acrylics, pastels/pastel pencils and some charcoal pieces. While my own work might not be worth anything to anyone else, I like to be reminded that once upon a time I could draw

i normally like non-representational art, however, if i could have an original, it would be the following van gogh, it seems like a nice place to go. below that, an el greco 'view of toledo' that i have always admired as well...

Both of them very nice... a little bit of good and evil feeling with those two.

Who's the artist of the nude you picked up?
