Just got the new LG VX 6000, Verizon's top of the line phone. This baby is sweet! Got every feature under the sun and then some. Amazing how they fit all the technology in these. Highly recommended if you're shopping for a new one! Sound quality is unreal. You can't even tell you're on a cell.

Verizon sells them for $199. But I got it last week when they had a $50 off special, a $50 mail-in rebate, and I got $100 credit for renewing my contract with them again. So I got it for FREE!

these days i really don't give a damn about my cell as long as it's small, can take a beating, and has solid battery life.

though i think i'd like to have the camera->image->email feature in my next phone. anyone here using that feature? worthwhile?

I didn't think I'd use it that much, but I have been and its nice to have a camera with you at all times for candid pics you'd normally miss.

Good too if you're scouting for models.

I'm shopping for a new phone now. Through the years I've found that the flip phones get the worse reception. Too pften I'm living or playing in the middle of nowhere and loose it. Also if the phones have too many extras that can also affect reception.

I'm not sure what I'll get yet. Still shopping. I'd love to hear what everyone esle has including plans. I'd like:

free incoming
unlimitd nights and weekends starting at 7
Roll-over minutes
Blue tooth enabled

Reception essential.

So far Cingular seems to have the best plan.

These are the elements I look for as well. I never use any of the bells and whistles.... give me something tiny and tough!

LG is a great short term phone. Don't expect it to last at all tho, you'll get so disgusted with the quirks that you will probably end up tossing it on the ground trying to kill it before it completely dies.

I did see a new Samsung yesterday when I was at Frys that looked way too good... only problem with those damn things is that you really do have to throw them on the ground to get rid of them, they never die...

i've had verizon for 2 1/2 years... great service and honest...

however their T720 motorola sucks ass...$350 for a phone and it contains no speaker phone...plus if already broke and I haven't even ran it over like my old nokia which still worked afterwords!?!?!?!

I haven't seen a picture phone yet that has enough image quality to be useful. Max-resolution is 640x480, many are still 320x200. And the optics and component quality just aren't there to even begin to deal with low light. Outdoors in good sunlight, you'll get a reasonable pic. Indoors, if it's well lit, you might be able to make out the subject.

I just switched from AT&T to Sprint PCS.
I got the plan for Unlimited nights and weekends..starting at 7pm.
Camer Flip phone..
Ahh shits..its loaded.
Anyway, I got twice the plan with Sprint than I did with AT&T and now 7 to 7.

I have my office down in the basement, plus to mention..I live in the country. I get excellent reception where I am.

AT&T, I had to either go upstairs or outside to use my friggin phone.

I'm sold on Sprint PCS.

You're not going to get Nikon quality pics from a cell phone lens that's a 1/4 inch wide with a 330,000 CMOS chip. Its just not possible. But if the lighting is good the quality is surprisingly nice and sharp for candid style fun pics. And that's all its designed for.

You're maxed out at 640 x 480 so its really just for web viewing, not printing out 8 x 10's or the like.

But its very handy having a built-in camera with you at all times. I was scouting around for some office space the other day and using my cell phone cam to take pics of buildings I liked and the leasing info signs so I could match the numbers to an image and not have to write it down while I was driving.

My phone stores 20 pics in the gallery and you can e-mail those to yourself as you go if you need to shoot more than that.

At the beach, snapped some candids of my son trying to body surf and getting tossed in the waves. I rarely would bring my Nikon on a ride to the ocean, so the cell cam was great and convenient to have along.
