Watching the Macy's parade here with the kidlets, wishing they'd start aiming the cameras at the BALLOONS instead of all the singers/dancers...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY, EVERYONE! Get stuffed and have a nice time with your families

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Am I the only one that thinks Thanksgiving is NOT Thanksgiving if you dont have deviled eggs?! Or is that a southern thing??

This is my first holiday away from my family and with Bradleys family. I am only in charge of making a few things this year, but wish me luck

Happy Thanksgiving to all

Have a safe, happy and healthy T-day

and to all our friends who don't reside in the USA

Have a Happy Thanksgiving too - take a day off and celebrate - life's too short not to

If you're not familiar with our Thanksgiving Holiday

In 1621, after a hard and devastating first year in the New World the Pilgrim's fall harvest was plentiful.

The Pilgrims had beaten the odds. They built homes in the wilderness, they raised enough crops to keep them alive during the long coming winter, and they were at peace with their Indian neighbors.

Their Governor, William Bradford, proclaimed a day of thanksgiving that was to be shared by all the colonists and the neighboring Native American Indians.

The custom of an annually celebrated thanksgiving, held after the harvest, continued through the years. During the American Revolution (late 1770's) a day of national thanksgiving was suggested by the Continental Congress.

Basically now it's a time to gather with family and friends for feasting and fun. Some also look at it as a day to give thanks for their blessings

I was wondering why my traffic was low.
I think I'll celebrate by nuking a few burritos.

Harvest festivals and thanksgiving celebrations were held by the ancient Greeks, the Romans, the Hebrews, the Chinese, and the Egyptians among others.

TGF - tomorrow traffic should be very good, most women are out shopping in the USA leaving men at home .... to surf porn all day!

cherrylula - not exactly - we all know we killed the indians and took their land ... eventually

OMG! What are deviled eggs?!

I make mine by combining the boiled egg yolk, mustard, mayo, relish, a dash of celery salt, pepper, paprika. Spoon this into the hard boiled egg that you sliced into. Add a sliced black olive on top with a sprinkle of celery seed to garnish.

Deviled Eggs Rock

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Since there is just the 2 of us here, I made my favorite thing for dinner....reservations. Only draw-back is no leftovers. LOL

Hmmm, I may have to make some deviled eggs now though..

Enjoy!

Happy T-day everyone!

And yes, I am the official deviled egg maker in my family. I add chopped green olives or sweet relish to mine, but there is no TRUE southern family gathering that doesn't include deviled eggs. :P

I also made apple pies with apples from the orchard. But they're close to closing them down for the season.

And I have some fresh off the farm sweet 'taters to bake and cover with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon!

Hope everyone eats until they're about to burst, then gets seconds, and has a wonderful with family and/or friends!!!
