Farmers Use CDs to Help Relax Turkeys

The Associated Press

Christmas can be stressful, especially if you're a turkey. But relaxed birds are better, so the National Farmer's Union has come up with a soothing plan. Officials said Monday the organization has sent 114 farmers a compact disk of sounds including birds twittering in the early morning, wind chimes, whale sounds and the gobble of "happy turkeys," to play to their birds.

"It is well known that a stressed bird is more prone to disease," said a spokesman.

Of course stressed pig tastes different than stressed turkey...

Pig still tastes like pig, turkey still tastes like turkey........

Even the onions and carrots are afraid on Thanksgiving.

White man came, killed off the natives, then made a day of feast/slaughter day of the entire thing and packaged it.

Consumerism at its finest.

The carrots have nothing to fear compared to the cranberries. The canned goo doesn't even resemble their original form...
(Still tastes good, though)

I dont know about rocks.

but the other night i was outside of a friends home in the dark valleys of california where the hilly orchards used to be, now filled with homes.

And the wind was blowing so hard it felt like the trees were swaying so much they were actually lifting thr ground,...was very powerful winds, and the trees seemed to love it.

I like trees.

Rocks are about the smartest things in the universe....

Trees are very cool though too (even if they are a little down the intelligence ladder from the rocks).

I remember back in the mid 70s when I lived up in Fortuna. We would go back into wilderness areas quite often. Locals would warn us to watch out for the "widder makas". Finally learned what a "widder maka" was when a local showed us a 10-20 foot long branch from a redwood tree standing perfectly straight alongside it's mother tree and buried about 4 feet into the ground. Fucker looked like another tree.

Ive seen the same thing in plants of my own.

They grow into the ground and self root, I can only imagine certain trees do it too.

I am blessed to be in a great area to drive and see some old trees, although the border of the desert lies just outside of town.

The northern part of california is much more magical than this scorching desert down here.

There's a HUGE difference between lamb meat that is from a large 'meat factory' and lamb meat that is from a private person. I assume the free air and 'freedom' give lambs less stress, better meat. I like meat.

I want no pink in my beef. Burn it. Carbon adds flavor. I eat an absurd amount of chicken.

When I barbeque I always use high flame. My steaks are very dark on the outside and red inside.

I also eat craploads of chicken. I bought a deepfryer, I must have consumed 500+ nuggets the past month.

Deepfrying the chicken kinda defeats the health benefits of eating the chicken...

And bring my steak to me bleeding.
Health-foods suck donkey balls. I enjoy good food and I will NEVER eat healthy foods. Beef has to be fried in real butter. Whipped cream has to be made out of real cream and sugar. Fuck health.

My arteries can scream all they want, I'll deepfry everything (especially now that my nukebox is broken).

I never ate much fried food til I moved to New Orleans...good stuff they do it right down there too. Its just such a pain to fry food at home.

I eat big bowls of salad regularly, but could never be a vegetarian. Red meat is where its at.
