The galaxy is 50,000 light-years across and is located 28 million light-years from Earth.

Now *that* is extremely cool. Although it looks more like a dinner plate than a sombrero to me, and more like a dense asteroid belt than a solar system. (Actually it looks more like an outgoing water ripple.)
Any other info, like what class star is at the center or how large it might be?

Very cool. There are some awesome new images that they are able to record now. Pretty interesting.

Yeah.

An algorithm is used to color images so you have to click on "Original Images" to see them more as hubble "sees" them. They are still quite impressive.

Hey if ya like staring at the stars, here is a page that will show you how to make a very kick ass telescope that will allow you to view other galaxies. Obviously not as clear but still pretty kick ass.
