Well I guess we can add all of the Jordanians quoted in that article to our list of fucking idiots.
And this... "Wednesday's television pictures of U.S. troops draping an American flag over the face of a statue of Saddam in central Baghdad before toppling it left them feeling angry and humiliated. "In their euphoria the Americans put the American flag on Saddam's statue, which is a sign of their true motives," said Hamza Mansour, secretary general of the Islamic Action Front, Jordan's largest political party." That flag was handed to the soldier BY one of the Iraqis, who told him to put it up there. You can see it on the video. Either CNN or MSNBC interviewed one of the soldiers there shortly after the statue came down and he said that there were Iraqis saying to put it on the statue. And these people bitching about it CHOOSE to completely ignore the fact that the Iraqi flag was ALSO put up there. The Iraqis and the Marines worked *together* to bring that statue down, and both flags were put onto the statue before it toppled. Why do people insist on being assholes and focusing only on 15 seconds out of a two-hour drama?? ARRRGHH.

Arabs Shocked
Feeling betrayed and misled, some turned off their sets in disgust when jubilant crowds in Baghdad celebrated the arrival of U.S. troops. "We discovered that all what the (Iraqi) information minister was saying was all lies," said Ali Hassan, a government employee in Cairo, Egypt. "Now no one believes Al-Jazeera anymore." http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&cid..._ea/war_arabs_4

Many Arabs get their news from goverment controlled media or from the local mosque... Goverment and Religion - 2 places where the truth is sacrificed for a higher purpose!

Yeah, I think EVERYONE was confused as to what the correct symbolism should be.
First a US flag .. then "uh oh", put an Iraqi flag up there.. and then .. uhh .. we don't want to have an Iraqi flag on the statue that is about to be stomped on. I've never seen political correctness considered in the demolition of the icons of a fallen dictator. How interesting was THAT?
