Also to Lance - I liked Requiem for a Dream - didn't LOVE it, but it was certainly a well done flick. It should be a "must see" for every HS health class

Thank goodness I had it on DVD - I went back and watched the last scene three times just to get it all, lol! One tiny part I suspected, but that was all. Very cool!
My next suggestion (if you're into a bit of low budget fun) is El Mariachi. It is a Spanish film...done by Robert Rodriguez, ...it was produced with a mere $7000 budget.
He later did the bigger budget follow-up Desperado, which you might have seen with Antonio Banderas and Selma Hyak.
El Mariachi is so much fun....I HIGHLY recommend it... And...after the credits are over, stick around for the short that follows, BedHead, which Rodriguez used his own children in....a little encore worth watching.

Got a little panicky - El Mariachi wasn't showing up on Netflix But I did a search by the director and it and Desperado on the same disc - Bonus!

I've seen that one! Liked it, didn't love it - but it WAS good!

I've got to say that NetFlix has been an awesome program to work with. We've seen movies that we haven't seen in years - been able to get new releases that I now fortunately don't have to spend the $$$ on buying - AND I cut up my Blockbuster card - those guys were getting too much profit off of all my late fees.
Now I can be a forgetful DVD-renter, NOT pay late fees, search for new movies online, never leave my house AND save $$$. NetFlix rocks!
Thanks for posting all of these off-beat titles...we love watching foreign and Indie films. Always a great surprise! As soon as Peaches lets them go from NetFlix, we're on the list! lol
