I'm wondering if I'm the only one or is any other content provider(s) having problems with Card Services International and Authorize.net?
ZMASTER's Card Services merchant account was terminated without so much as a how ya doin'. Apparently they looked at ZMASTER and decided we were a run of the mill adult membership site not a shopping cart based site selling goods.
Card Services cited that we were selling payperview adult movies, ZMASTER has an AEBN video on demand payperview link on the index page and as we all know it is just a sponsor link page. But Card Services swore up and down that ZMASTER was doing the billing for the payperview. (AEBN)
I finally got Card Services to see that this AEBN page was an affiliate program and not billed through ZMASTER's merchant account and made them see that they had made a mistake.
Now by way of covering their own asses for their mistake they are saying that B2B ZIP licensed adult content downloads fall under the same guidelines as membership based sites.
Now they are trying to charge ZMASTER the VISA $750.00 and $1000.00 for Master Card to process content sold on ZMASTER.com.
I am currently trying to explain to them what ZMASTER does, but I may have to remove all content downloads from the ZMASTER.com site and just sell the CDs via mail again like in the old days to keep my merchant processing. I'm sure I will loose a large portion of my business at that time so I'll most likely pay the extortion charge.
To say that the people I have spoken to over at Card Services are stupid would be doing a disservice to stupid idiots eveywhere.
Is anyone else having issues with processing for content sales?
I've had an account with them for almost 8 years. It's all about ratio. Especially now.
FYI- I don't use them for subscription sales any longer. Mostly for products and client billing.

If you guys are cookin' we'll be there, can't violate tradition.
I was going to email you tonight and touch base, 'cause it's been a while and I've been psycho-busy lately.
This is infact quite common, as downloadable "ZIP" content is "high risk" as there's no tangiable goods involved, you will be required to pay the high risk fees to both Visa and Mastercard. Unless your sales don't warrent payment of the $1750.00 there's no way I'd not pay it if the option is there. You'll lose too many customers if you remove the option IMO.
It is pretty sad that they lump us into the same class as a membership site that generates chargebacks and refunds left and right just for having downloadable content, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Yeah, we've had an account with them since we bought ZMASTER in 2001 and the previous owners had account swith them dating back to when Jesus was beatin' his meat to a stone tablet porno mag.

Hey Doug, good talking to you this morning. This thing with CardServices is pretty messed up. You would think an adult CC processor would have to operate professionally, equitably and honestly...ok well at least take care of their customers and not try to rob them at gunpoint.
If there is anything I can do to help the situation, let me know. If anyone has any questions, contact me. patrick@aebn.net ICQ 150599121

Hi Patrick
Good talking to you as well and thanks for your concern.
Card Services is just stupid and didn't have the brains to realize that my payperview page was your AEBN sponsor page and they shut my processing down (It's no fault of AEBN whatsoever).
Card Services is now trying to find excuses to make me pay their extortion money and cover their original mistake.

Serge,
Whats the flashlight for?
Flashlight is needed, according to MikeW, to blind you, thus making the whole procedure less taxing mentally on your visuals and entire system....plus...
I'd HATE to forget or leave valuable tools in some of your body cavities,
flash light is good for searches
