Can you explain the pricing differences for these sites? They have a different structure to the current ARS sites, Dude Dorm for example has no trial and see me pee has a $4.95 trial.

The point you're missing is that without the conference, there would be no webmasters to give free rides for or to host a party for.

The webmasters will be there because of the conference, which is FREE OF CHARGE btw to the webmasters in attendance. All costs are being paid for by the sponsors.

Promoting oneself at the expense of others is tacky at best. You'd be far less obvious if you stood out front with a sandwich board promoting Interclimax. At least then people wouldn't be 'fooled' by any pretenses of you trying to be a generous party guy.

Serge, no turf wars, just calling it as I see it. Last I checked, the site said there were 126 webmasters & guests attending, with 179 total. So I'd guess 53 of the total are connected with sponsors. As a sponsor myself, I look at this show as a worthwhile opportunity to do some networking. If someone makes an effort to lure away a substantial number of people, then that decreases the effectiveness of my efforts.

There isnt a lot that can be done to stop surfers from using trials across a lot of different sites.

However, when you say sometimes they join the same site 10 times, that can be stopped. If the same person at the same address is trying to join a site they have already been a member of just simply dont allow them to buy a trial again.

Present them with a page saying thanks for returning , glad you like our site so much, and offer them more expensive options!

I know of some sites that only allow people to have 1 trial per month.

Surfers are definately getting smarter at getting free porn... the biggest problem for pay webmasters right now is surfers joining then cancelling the trials rebill them. So they will join, jerk, cancel, join, jerk, cancel...
sometimes 10 times per site and in some cases it's still cheaper than joining per month.
I think in the future pay webmasters will start losing the trials and moving more to ACH (use electracash.com use electracash.com end spam) where the conversion rate from trials to monthly is still very high

Maybe I'm unedumacated, but that sounds like you wanted to pick people up from the airport and bring them to the hotel, very noble of you. Then you wanted them to come to a separate party you were throwing (that thing about "OUR PARTY" and "PARTY INFO" kinda makes it sound like you're throwing a party), totally disconnected from the show.

Look, here's the difference between Internext and Windsor. Internext is a huge multi-day show centered around an expo where attendees pay to attend. Windsor is a small single-day show centered around networking that is free to attend, as it is sponsor supported. When you attempt to hijack a bunch of the group away from this show, while not supporting the show itself, you are, in effect, screwing the sponsors and organizers of the show.

Well, all I have to say for now is "holy cow I'm still alive" - hung out with Forest and LittleC and some of the InterClimax crew, and them's some nice folks :)

Regarding foreign traffic/markets, you may find this url of interest... it breaks down not only current numbers of surfers, but the economic details of each country/language. By looking at the gdp etc of each country, you can get a much better picture of whether is is 'worth' marketing to the popular languages spoken.

But, what I can say is, I think its very very difficult for a US AdultWebmaster to figure out how european customers look at sites and what they want to see and have, both for actually signing up and for hold times...

Normal German traffic for example converts around 1:150 right now (will probably go up again, quite a few "dialers suck"-reports on tv in the past months) and hold times are around 9-12 minutes for sites that know what they are doing. And payout is around $1.00 (stupid currency exchange rate, it would be way higher otherwise ;))

On top of this, many us-companies have shitty rates for europe.
