I've always felt that this war is against the rich and poor also. Like Serge said it's the same war that's been fought for 5K years..

Islam has mostly spread in the poorer communities of the world. Even it's infiltration in the USA is within the poorer segments. It gives purpose and passion to the have nots. It teaches them to fight back. I'm not saying that's what Islam is all about, but that's what it's become.

But it's also critical to understand that Islam doubled in size in the last 20 years, which is an astonishing rate, but mostly through the support of the USA. We've pretty much supported and put into power most of the major Muslim Extremists today. From Khomeini in Iran to Bin Laden himself in Afghanistan to fight Russia. Islam was on of our greatest tools against Russia.

the way to win this war is the same recepie our countries used 55 years ago:

bomb their old infrastructure out of existence,
remove present hostile government,
help rebuilding them,
have allies for life

This approach worked in Germany, Japan,
we did exactly that and today both countries are our major economic partners and our alies in political arena as well.

Who could have thought 60 years ago that USA and Germany will be allies,

About transfused blood cells...Blood cels have a limited life. They will be replaced; but in the meantime will fulfill the functions of your blood cells. No, blood cells do not reproduce. They are created by the marrow in your long bones (legbones, armbones, ets.).

Red blood cells are produced in the bone marrow. They don't reproduce. They also don't have a nucleus. I think they still carry DNA but not in nucleus but i could be wrong.

From your ACTG ... write two random sequences and they will have on average, 25% similarity.

So, a 25-100% scale is different than 0-100% and 90% has that misleading feel. I use the 90% argument on the unsuspecting though and it leads to great fun for me .. and pain for them; them being created from clay and ribs and all.

Corvo .. I am a stout evolutionist but i do not like the 90%+ argument since the way it is measured ignored the fact that 25% of gene sequence will be the same just by chance. In other words, a human and a daisy have just about 25% in common .. because that is the minimum by that particular measure. I think they use mitochondrial DNA which mutates slowly. One can use other sequences that show less similarity.

To ME, the most AMAZING THING about such comparisons though, is that humans and chimps are less divergent by these tests than chimps and orangutans. To me, that REALLY says something, especially since such evidence was not available in 1859.

Gaia hypothesis .. all life forms on Earth can be thought of as one life form. Take it further, Earth can be thought of a living thing itself and we are sort of parasitic.

It's really not that crazy .. in a way. Think of human life, a little sperm goes swimming and meets an "egg". The chemicals do their work and a zygot is created. Certain instructions make a divided cell. Ahh, teo cells! The process keeps going.Eventually, every cell in your body has the same instructions (DNA), certain genes turned on make it a liver cell, others, a hair follicle. All the cells related by their common coding. Each cell is alive. The interconnectedness of the cell forms one "being". Inside your intestinal tract are E Coli bacteria .. more instructions! Different instructions! They work with "your" cells to perform certain biological processes. Do you want to consider E Colin part of you or outside of you .. one continues until eventually one arrives at Gaia!

I recently watched a documentary that was about how we first grew limbs and why.
it was , until just recently, always beklieved that we had gown limbs to halp us move over land to the next pond, swamp, but it was recenlty discovered, through fossils, that we originally grew lims whilst still IN the water to help us navigate through swamp.
anyway the reason I got onto this is that it was ALSO believed that we always had 5 digits , but along with tht fossil they discovered that originally we had 7 digits and that we dropped a couple as they were no longer needed

not familiar with that one colin. thinking in terms of some stuff on quatum physics and probability i read ages ago. interesting tidbits such as by percieving an electrons place in its orbit, you are determining it. sort of like that dude that didn't like cats, only on a more fundamental level.

we are all an interlocking mesh of possiblities, spread thick or thin, and filtered through our own perceptions and moderated by what others around us also percieve.
