yeh it works pretty good. @home gave static ip, then hook it to the linksys, which will be the dchp server for the network, giving out Local (intranet) ip's to the systems. pretty damm good for 70.00 router;) with your connection loss, do you have a dynamic ip with dsl or static? sometimes with dynamic, keep alive screws up. I would suggest for anyone with dsl or cable to buy the linksys 4 port router. good up to 253 workstations, by adding hubs to the router, then more hubs connected to the hubs:))

yeh I was reading up on your prices and speed down there in Au, kinda sucks!! I got mine throught @home, att. first 3 months, 20.00 per month, then 35.00 per month after that, since I bought the cable modem, normally 45 per month if you rent the modem. Unlimited everything. They wanted to charge more if you had a network, screw that. bought another 4 port linksys cable/dsl router, had 4 workstations sharing the cable in 5 minutes:) Left the other systems on the dsl.

It's expensive and restricted, if you can get it at all.

Optus cable is good, but anything through Telstra is capped at 3 gig a month, and their speeds are a joke. And all australian DSL options are terrible.
