it is also important which SE it is. AOL, for example is much harder to make higher conversions from, because of the DMOZ free stuff available. But I don't know anyone making that much off their uniques, from any engine. The ones that are closest are niche. Someone else may know something different.

that all depends on how generic your term is, and where you are sending it. If you are qualifying your traffic through the listings, and sending it to a niche site, then it will convert better.

For example, a listing for "sex pics" sent to a general site will probably not convert as well as "panty pics" sent to a panty fetish site, ratio-wise. Then it would be about bulk.

General terms need to have a target that offers several options, IMO.

I would have to agree with you , in my experience when I focus on doing too much at once, nothing gets done right.
When I started focusing on my online casino full time, the casino was making money but my adult sites suffered. When I started a Search Engine a couple of years ago, we made money with goto, but my adult sites suffered. I finally decided a few months ago to focus most of my attention on the adult sites - which make the most money for us. This strategy is working good, signups are increasing daily, money is good - but unfortunately search engine and casino are suffering - but still making some money in the background.
I guess if the well ever dries up (with the adult sites) I can focus more attention on the casino and/or search engine. For now better to keep it simple and spend most of my time working the porn (which I know best).
