Well, the Baltimore Ravens really gutted it out against the Jags today. Good to see the champs are still fighting and scratching.

Did anyone catch Ray Charles' version of America the Beautiful before the World Series? Amazing. He made up half of the words. He ad-libbed like crazy. Ran into some interesting trouble with a few of ad-libs but got himself out of difficulty.

I've seen Ray Charles live (last summer) and he's GOOD. I enjoyed tonight's rendition.

What I have found out people are willing to pay for my site and its really rolling now since traffic has increased but we will always try to be on the leading edge of all new pda or phone tech thats coming out. We are working with some companies in Japan to bring our content to their new phone systems etc. Its a really exciting market.

I think adult pda content as an extension of web content and stuff like that.. What business person likes to go down to the corner store and buy Big Anal Girls from the clerk? :) just messing around.

Yup Serge, webmaster fraud will be down, but have to wonder about the sponsor fraud ;)

I wonder how many chargebacks these days are webmaster related and how many are sponsor related and even how many are surfer related...I know with our site, we fucked up a bit when we started, so they were our fault, but haven't had any in quite sometime, so I assume most of the CC fraud is inper signup programs? or perhaps we just don't have enough numbers of signups to see much of a difference?

Well my 2 cents on dialers are simple. I am french so basically have lots of contact in the french world.

If you are a sponsor getting french traffic from France and regions, well dialer rates will change in few days and you will need to do much better with this traffic,because your $$$ from the dialer company will cut short.

What does the french surfer need with his dialer connection ?

We all know it's a shitty connection not more then 56k, and if they have minitel well it's worse i think. So basically if you give them the full americanized sites ;-)) With all the videos, live shows ... you are not doing yourself any good. You need Pics, with chat, few small streaming...Good girls trained to chat and keep them for a long time, giving them the complete tour of something they can actually watch and enjoy on their shitty connections. This way you create longer connection time and better retention ( who's gonna come back when they see a $ 40.00 charge for a connection ). This brings me to a second point, Dialers will be good when people will pay daily usage flat fees ... I am pretty sure it's possible and profitable.

Just my 2 cents ;-))

in any form of transaction there will be fraud...people don't change, only technology does...

I remember Robin Nixon started a site called pincard where they were basically issuing an internet only credit card..I also see a lot of pre-paid access cards hitting ault stores and bix opp magazines...I'm sure there are other companies out there like PayPal that'll start making headway into markets that Visa/MC may be shying away from...

nothing really...if someone has a credit card then they have a checking account...so they reach for the checkbook instead of the plastic...or do the 900 call and get their pin # (though, I figure the web900 will stay the same since the main difference will be paper instead of plastic plastic ;)))

There are alternatives though. Other companies offer similar things, but they don't list their rates on their website. They are most likely cheaper.

And the phone company does do something, to be honest. They actual dialer software is theirs, and they also offer phone support to customers who have problems installing the software. I don't expect many people to use that option when trying to access porn, but I'm sure the phone company would claim many people use it! :-)

I must admit that the reason why dialers are popular in Holland is probably mostly because CC is no real good alternative here, and the banks have failed to pick up the ball to safely allow ATM billing online.

We use those ATM card in every super market, gas station and even the small tabacco shop on the corner of the street has an ATM card reader.

If the banks (and there aren't that many banks over here, they could easily bond together) would push a good solution, like offering a card reader that you can hook up to the PC where you can use your ATM card, they could really make it work. Oh well ;-)

As for high speed use of sites with streams etc: that's easy and in use over here: you use your DSl/cable connection to access the website, but while you connect you need to simultaneously dial a pay-number and keep that line open while you use the site. If you hang up, you get kicked off immediately. I've used that, and don't know how they do it technically but it worked pretty well.

An alternative could be to buy blocks of time by dialing a number and punching in a code. But that's actually the same as Web900 billing in the US, isn't it?

I just browsed the website for switchpoint (the product offered by the Dutch phone company) and they limit the charges to EUR 0.70 per minute maximum. They also VERY CLEARLY disclose the amount you will pay per minute.

I have seen other solutions (with the same technology), and they may allow you to charge more, though. I doubt many will be willing to pay more, though.

Exactly Enforcer. There are many people in Buffalo who are blinded to those W-L stats for various reasons.

I agree pretty much Sykkboy. Sports writers today have a giant chip on their shoulders, mostly because of money. Writers and athletes used to be very chummy, drinking together etc on the road. THen the athletes started to get paid the big money and that relationship was forever changed.
