While I understand we have more life threatening concerns than Anthrax infection, when you're listening to the radio in your office while your wife and son are out in the city and you hear your city has been threatened with an Anthrax attack that very day it is disturbing - If that is the intended effect it got my attention

The longer the situations we now find ourselves faced with continue (and it could well go for the rest of our lives) the more challenging and quite possibly bizarre it may become. Am sure there will be things that occur in the future that none of us can foretell now. Also feel the longer this situation continues the closer we will come to a full fledged holy world, all Muslims against the USA and the allies we can muster.

Currently we have the support of some Muslims. If we take control of the situation and make a statement by military force (if necessary detonating a nuclear bomb on Afghanistan) we can prevent more long term tragedy and begin the return of normalcy and make the world a safer place for everyone.

I have found it very depressing to watch the news channels. They still run every little dumb thing they can find into the ground. They have had so many great news stories,that they just can't seem to be able to cope with a 'slow news day.

They are starting to do a 'little better - but, I think it is the news media that is hurting the country presently. They have so much news competition with each other, that they spend a lot of time on normal day to day events - trying to make a story out of everything & link it to terrorists. My god, they act like there was never crime & illness in this country before! I find all this news witch hunt - very disturbing. It is keeping the country in shock, and making normal people walk around with a dazed look in their eyes. People are having trouble leading normal lives and making decisions past this afternoon. All this continuing trauma and fear, is just what the terrorists are counting on.

There is a BIG difference between caution and fear. As far as the airlines - I think they are safer today than they have been in years.

I'm agreeing with IP today as well -- with so many bombshell news stories lately, the media has painted itself into a corner -- keep the big stories going and keep people watching the news -- would be interesting to see what the avg jump in their ratings is from 60 days ago to now.

Anthrax can have as much as a 60 day incubation period so someone being exposed to it today might not show symptoms until almost Christmas...

Not to mention the fact that there was a case in Texas this summer already that was cured and needless to say, totally unrelated to current events. Proving it does happen, rarely yes, but just like the occasional outbreak of smallpox and the like, it still happens.

As to the perpetrators of all this mayhem, remember two years ago with the school systems having to evacuate and/or close the schools for days at a time over copycats and false threats? I'd still be the chances of riding a bus thats hit by a meteor are better than catching anthrax today.

Wasn't there a white supremecy groups seeking anthrax awhile back...I find it odd the media isn't questioning the fact that maybe the anthrax attacks are domestic terrorism...CNN touched on it briefly, but hasn't made mention since...I remember the scare we had here in Vegas a couple years ago when they nailed a couple people at a doctor's clinic with possession of anthrax...they were found to only be had the kind used in creating anti-biotics, but I remember them blocking off the streets (was just a couple blocks up the road from where I was living at the time)

I've alwya sthought that as technoology progreeses we would move onto haveing hand scans instead of credit cards, bank cards etc - It just seems so logical - You don't have to worry about misplacing your ID or forgetting your PIN.
Although you may very well have to worry about 'hand snatchers' - forget bag snatchers - these guys will walk down the street with knives, randomly cuting of hands at the wrist - obviously the best way to avoid this is to NOT wear jewellery as you will look like wealthy prey.

I just purchased IBM mainframe computer and I'll be studing COBOL and Fortran today.

Hopefully,
I'll be able to tabulate one year worth of processing by major 4th party processor into the spread sheet to know the definate answer myself!

Agreed Marc... Mondays are our definite best & tuesdays are a close second... always see saturdays as one of the slowest though... interesting.

Although we are still small enough that one huge promotion can make a big enough bump up in any one days sales that it looks better than the rest... believe it or not our record day thus far is still a Friday!

there go my hopes of actually knowing which days are best "industry wide" ;-))

On a completely different note.. i've been incredibly pleased with ibill for the past 4 days. Rebills look good & haven't had many initial declines either.. hopefully that upgrade actually made the difference. *knocking on wood.. crossing fingers... throwing salt* ;-))
