When I started working at the advertising division of a large graphics house (printing) in Manhattan, the Union was coming in. When I left five years later the Union was gone. So I flanked a three-year term. Saw it a year before, saw it the three during, saw it the year after. The first and last year were the best years there. What a total piece of shit. This was the CWA (Communications Workers of America), yeah the same one's who are the telephone operators. They wanted to add printing and publishing to their lineup. What did the CWA do when I was there? Got us three increasingly worse benefits plans in a row, much more money out of our pay checks, raises and promotions were frozen, more dumb stuff. And what was their most pro-active thing they ever did during the entire three years there? The ONLY thing they did, ever, was to get one total brainless fucking moron idiot that worked there ... I just came from New York, Manhattan. The Times Square is almost empty, nobody bumps into you, you can walk without touching anybody's shoulders, tourists are gone, reastaurants are empty, somethign I NEVER experienced in the 22 years I live in/near the City. But...MamaMia show was FULL, all seats sold and occupied, inside the theater one would never know what happened in New York 4 short weeks ago. bin Laden miscalculated new york spirit, new yorkers resolve and short of nuclear blast, NOTHING will stop new yorkers, what a breed! Being in the City, in the center of the Universe, gave me reassurance, THIS is civilization worth fighting for, and NO MEANS are too strong to protect this civilization. I disagree. A great teacher motivates you. A great inspires you. A great teacher entertains you. It is a teacher's JOB to inspire their students to be interested .. to being dead things to life. To entertain. A teacher has a LOT of competition; in the classroom alone, for the interest of his/her students. If you can't make things interesting for them .. they will not likely make it interesting for themselves. I used to start off classes like this all the time ... "Today .. I'm going to teach you something you've never heard before. You haven't heard it, no one in this class has heard about .. and probably your parents haven't heard about it. when you go home, ask them .. and they will not know. After today, you will know more than your parents about this. At the end of World War One, in 1918, the Americans landed troops in the Arctic to fight the Russians .. " Kids eat that stuff up. Colin, no it's not. The first part is correct, the second assumes that everyone except conservatives is an empty headed idealistic fool, which is certainly not the case. Look back thru history to see who the fools have been. Mussolini, Hitler and the CSA were all conservative Vick, nationalists and traditionalists. dig420 Ready Set GO!!!!!

Unions are the BAIN of capitalism and the American spirit...they are the antithesis in posture and practice TO ALL that this country has ALWAYS stood for...the concept of being paid for merit....the practice of free enterprise....even free thought and open expression ...all are ALIEN to union mentality. Thanks for the definitions Under those definitions where do the goverments of Castro (I know communism), Hitler, Mussolini, and the Confederate States of America fall?
